The APL says that 52 of 53 items were ‘agreed in principle’ between the two organisations as far back as early July, with this new proposal designed to ‘address the remaining unresolved item’ by delivering a significant increase to the salary cap for the A-League Women, as well as ‘further provisions’ for players to have a direct say in the direction of the professional game.

So much time spent whining about inconsequential stuff like FA's media release to fans and stakeholders eroding trust 🙄 Also a bit naff crying about not having a CBA, when they're the ones who didn't sign it, even if justified.

Anyway it actually sounds like we have/had a world leading CBA. The only hiccup seems to be around the women's.

Dyland Holmes was more informative about what they actually want, professionalism and an independent women's league.

There won't be any massive changes for this season ahead, so I'd probably sign the one year deal now but keep negotiations ongoing immediately, and make it clear that they will strike if a roadmap towards professionalism isn't agreed to by Christmas. Forming an independent league would take a little longer I'd imagine.

Absolutely shocking just from an industry stand point, PFA's tougher response making even more sense.

Whilst this sort of thing is extremely common in world football unfortunately form a local perspective it speaks volume to the overall tenuous financial positions these clubs operate on a week to week basis.
