Good thing the Bulls got the result otherwise Vietnam would've overtaken us last night and our ACLE spot lost. But Vietnam are ahead of us in the forecast for 2027 and 2028.

On the other hand, the dropoff by China will drastic. If we can outperform them by about 4 points this season then we'll be in the running for that 2nd ACLE playoff spot (4th ranked).

johor will be a 6 point match for the coefficient. We also play thailand although they look miles ahead. Their league should be an achievable goal though
 
Thailand win all their ACL2 matches this round. A few upsets may have helped us with other nations. But the Bulls really should be winning these matches, I know it's tough travelling though. Singapore putting in a good shift and sneaking up on us.

As far as points required this season to pass teams in the future:

We only need 2.1 coefficient points more than China to pass them in 4th spot next season! This means an extra ACLE playoff spot for 27/28. 2.1 coefficient points is equivalent to two ACL2 (Macarthur) wins, or one win and one draw in ACLE (City).

We need 7 coefficient points more than Thailand to pass them in 3rd spot in 27/28. This means an extra ACLE spot and extra playoff spot for 28/29. We're unlikely to catch up that many points in one hit.

There is. The three of us would all be within 2 points of each other, anything can happen.

We still have the rest of the round to go but we're looking healthier. With a Macarthur win and Chinese losses it would put us just ahead of China next year. At the moment, we're just behind them.

even thailand look catchable. But we could also bottle it and end up below malaysia and even vietnam

closest we get to a promotion and relegation battle haha

If the three Chinese teams don't make the next ACLE stage, they won't receive the extra bonus points. And Macarthur play the only Chinese team in the ACL2 in the final round there, the ball is in their court to keep them out.

With this round finished, we now have our nose ahead of China in the following season. If all the Chinese teams bomb out, and City and Macarthur get through the knockouts as well, I think we'll pass China this season!

If my numbers are accurate, two more wins for City, plus one win + one draw for Bulls, should be enough to pass China this tournament. We'll receive another 2.5 points for making the next stage, so our clubs need to earn 8.28 more points (and Bulls points are worth 2/3rds).

Singapore also got max points this window.

Macarthur's last AFC Champions League Two game against Beijing Guoan the most pivotal game for us to have any chance of surpassing China in terms of coefficients, but Melbourne City getting results against South Korean opposition in their last three ACLE games will help us also.
 
Unfortunately for us, the two Thai teams go through by a whisker on "head to head"! That's a bonus 6 points for them just for scraping through to the next round. Will take us longer to pass them.
