All of this Greenland stuff is that he's basically at the beginning where this could have been resolved with the following phone call

Some American dude: Hey Denmark, can we expand our bases on Greenland and build a couple of more because of Russia blah blah.
Some Denmark dude: Yeah, that's cool, just let us know when and what you're going to do, maybe we can help.
Some American dude: No worries. We'll let you know.

He's basically at this point now without having to stamp his feet like a 3 year old. Ridiculous humans.

Yeah, if he JUST wanted to increase the military presence as per his claims, this would have been done easily without raising any non-Russian eyebrows.

However, there's 3 reasons why he's acting this way;

1. Mining. His tech-bro buddies want to get at Greenland's minerals.
2. Harming NATO. Causing division within NATO is good for Putin. *Cough* Krasnov *Cough*
3. Vanity. He's pointed it at on a map and said "Me want. I'll go down in history if I make the USA biggerer".

1. Maybe, like Venezuela it's not at a point where it is easily extracted without a 12 figure investment.
2. America provides 3/4's of NATO funding, NATO isn't going anywhere and Putin despite his braggado is at a stalemate. Ukraine was supposed to be done in a week, he's just turned it into Afghanistan.
3. Can't argue with that, sounds like most nutcase leaders throughout the milennia.

Yeah agree with both in a way.. Point 3 "seems" to be at the top of his list though... Harming NATO is more a cost saving exercise as US can't afford to fund it anymore... and would LOVE some military hardware sales for his best buds :)
 
Goes without saying that Trump's comments on NATO involvement in Afghanistan are a disgrace.

The bloke can't seem to go a day without proving he's the biggest flog on earth.
