Not yet @Muz but I will try on the weekend...

Its NOT in our nature to brown nose like that... we do self deprecating humour really well and any leader taking him/herself to seriously would get taken down a peg or two pretty quickly.... TBF the Yanks dont really do arse licking usually either... its just amazing how much the promise/threat/hope of money makes lick-spittles of otherwise serious people...

The Mayor of Washington D.C., Democrat Muriel Bowser, has offered some rare praise, from her party, for Donald Trump’s crackdown on crime in the American capital.

“The federal surge has had a significant increase (she meant decrease) on crime in Washington, D.C., and we greatly appreciate the surge of officers that enhance what the police department has been able to do in this city,” Ms Bowser said.

“The most significant thing that we are highlighting today is the area of crime that was most troubling for us in 2023. Now, we have driven it down over the last years, but – and I’m gonna get my glasses so I can make sure I can see it correctly – but for carjackings, the difference between this period, this 20-day period of this federal surge and last year, represents an 87 per cent reduction in carjackings.
“We know that when carjackings go down, when the use of guns goes down, when homicide or robbery go down, neighbourhoods feel safer and are safer.

“So this surge has been important to us for that reason.”

You mean to say thugs might not do crime when you've got soldiers about? Maybe they just went on holiday or a new neighbourhood. Crime migrates.
 
So Trump has gone missing for a full week.

All the photos pretending he's up and about over the last few days have been proven to be taken months, if not years, ago.

You'll probably load me with mainstream links, Muz but it's interesting how this perhaps hasn't become something of a headline in the past days. It's done some minimal rounds on my social feed but also nothing popped up yet with the hite House Press. His hand colour was some sign. Didn't the queen have something similar? Not death signal as such but that and his total absence suggests something may be up.
 
So the big announcement, which started an hour late, was that Space Command HQ will be moving to Alabama from Colorado.
 
Really weird how all these ‘small government’ maga types are suddenly ok with the most controlling US government in modern history.

Trying to save money by spending hundreds of millions of dollars moving the HQ.

The fact that it sits in a Democrat state and is going to a GOP has nothing to do with it. /s

I'll have to read up a bit more but it sounds like Huntsville already has a few government agencies there. Maybe it's time for an upgrade too.

Those in Colorado will need to either move to Alabama or take their great minds elsewhere. Shock got most, opportunity for some.

Colorado towns were places that got smashed during covid with digital nomads moving in. Home owners in Huntsville will be sitting on a nest egg. Renters are in deep shit.
