They are big gigs but both with mucho mucho backing and high ground
Sure you got to steer it and grow but when you have such substantial resource and backing you’d be a mug screwing up and a mug wouldnt last 2months if they didn’t play the tune well for you’d be eaten and spat out replaced in no time.

Still impressive though. Don't know too many huge organisations that would let you do 2 big roles at the same time.

You'd think the NRL would keep you busy enough let alone running all of the racing in NSW.

To be fair he is the chairman of each and not the CEO. Being a chairman is not generally considered a full time job. There have been people in the past (not sure if there are any currently) who have been the chairman of two publicly listed companies at the same time.

Yeah fair point about being on 2 boards.

Edit: According to Wiki he's Chief Executive and a board member for racing NSW and chairman of the board for the NRL.

Abdo is the NRL CEO but you hear far more from V'Landys than you do Abdo. (V'Landys responsible for their last broadcast deal and the LA incursion for example.)

Put it this way, he'd be a busy boy.
 
Sorry, my error. I assumed he was chairman of NSW Racing. So yeah, pretty big to be a chairman and CEO of two different orgs.

Nowhere in the article does it say that the idea came from anybody with responsibility. It was just floated by the hack who wrote it.
