From reading the OG Simon Hill piece today (I had never read it until now) - I think that's sort of the implied point. He makes a point of him not knowing much about anything AFL, so why does he need to talk about it, etc

Love it or hate it, the ones making the most noise about how AFL should fear football, are the ones who are trying to make a buck out of the game like S Hill and the ones defending the opinion are the APL customers trying to maintain market share or whatever metric garbage is important to them. "Old soccer" has co-existed with the egg ball codes for decades.

What has S Hill done wrong?

Domestic football in Australia already has enough problems that are more serious than anything an NRL or AFL columnist can throw at it!!
