Hi hd, I haven't been watching the NRL except for our game last week. I was looking forward to the start of the season but Flanagan's tirade against the ref just put me on the back foot. Yeah we got lucky and some 50/50 calls went our way, but the way Flanagan carried on, one would think St Merge was "caned merclessly" all game. We really dodged a bullet by not signing him on as head coach.

Still expecting a pretty close comp.

Many teams aee unconsistent in attack and defence.

Teams thst tried to throw the ball around early in the season made lots of errors.

Even though Parra were bad, Storm were impressive.

I am hoping for a big Broncos win, the Slimeys were ordinary in defence.

Mitch Moses to spend another game proving that he is a whinny little sook.

I was impressed with the size, physicallity, work rate and fitness of the Storm pack.

Also the passing from their spine.

No surpise that the Storm win so many round 1 games.

The scramble from the Dragons in our game was way better than the efforts from the Eels.

I would still like to see more size in our forwards and smoother attack.

Montoya bombed a try that most grannies pushing a walker could have scored. After a break from Kiks, Burto unluckily kicked into a player accidentially off side. 9 times out of 10 that kick misses the player.

We also had a couple of borderline passes called forward and found a couple of other waya to bomb trys.

Great scramble from the Dragons probably stopped another 2-3 trys.

While we probably should have had another 1-2 trys, we were not as impressive as the Storm.

Great to sw3 AJ get the record.

High standard game.

The Warriors have also made a strong start to the season

Any truth to rumours about Xerri wanting to leave the club?

Xerri was great mates with Hayward and Kiraz.

I am not sure if another club or RU could offer him more money.

I heard the same. Wants an immediate release.

Weird as fuck I've no doubt Gus knows the truth and they aren't going to let fly

Xerri hasn't exactly lit the field alight since being at the club but I liked him and his ability was only starting to shine there were numerous times in that Vegas game where he stuck his nose through and had free arms

Gus has said no official release request from Xerri or his manager, so far.

His form has been down a bit, but if he stays at the club he will improve.

Free agent for 2027 since November, this mighf kick off contract extension talks. Or it might be a re-run of Reed Marhoney with less drama.

Apparently didn't get an extention on his contract so kicked the bucket and wants out asap

Can we rule out Burton back to the centres now please lol he's an axe at 6 and is allowed to wonder!!

IMO Sua, Fitzgibbon, Rinakama and Rauqe have a lot of potential and Teaupa looks like a class left sided half to me.

Woods has a lot of potential.

But Cirro is picking the best 17 each week.

Juggling young players with potential and more established and consistent NRL players is a challenge.

Generally speaking, experience is important in the halves, but Galvin, Woods and Teaupa play beyond their years.

I can see a backline made up of Sua/Rinakama, Critter, Kiraz and Rauqe working.

Burton and Galvin starting with Woods on the bench.

If we ask Gus, he would honestly admit this isn't easy.

The players i don't want to lose are Critter, Teaupa, Galvin, Hayward, Rauqe and Sua + Bryenton if he progesses as expected.

Forwards are easier to replace than spine players and class outsude backs.

Even guys like Burton and Kiraz are replaceable. Burton ending up as an NFL punter wouldn't be a surprise.

I did think that we were a genuine chance to win a comp this season, but now i am not sure.

We have to trust Gus to make the right calls.

I am also interested if young O Smith is still at the club he seemed like the best prop prospect i have seen in years.

Played U19s SOO for QLD last year and was the best forward on the field, very close to the best player on the field. Perhaps even better than Woods and the QLD half Black.

Losing a few young guns that we want to keep is part of the territory.

Someone like Gus has to get the priorities right.

Top priority are players who can make a difference in the NRL for 10 seasons and who can turn games.

Add Woods, Smith, Preston and Fitzgibbon to the 7 players I don't want to lose above.

He had a bust up with Crichton, grabbed him by the throat, took 4 players to separate them.
