News out of Storm Hughes out . Big opportunity for a big victory for the Dogs .
Hopefully CC keeps the team focused try not to score every play A good defensive game should see us come through .

We just need to dig deep and get the job done.Storm are playing well and Sutton is screwing us as normal.

Geez Zoz, that's bit of an understatement. Sutton needs to be told to back off. His bias against us is beyond blatant.

I agree ODF it is a total discrace. Sutton needs a role in keeping with his talent. Cleaning the stadium after the game.

CC the press conference also hinted he wasn't too happy didn't directly say Sutton but he did say he was frustrated and he just left it at that but it was a good win. Actually I think we could've scored more points if we were allowed to play our game.

After that horrendous start to the season we have now snuck into the 8 lol
Horredous start was at least 70% due to injuries and players playing injured.

A lot of the difference in ladder positions 2025/2026 is injuries for all teams.

Dogs hit injury issues late in 2025, but early in 2026.

Our squad is in good shape, better than this time last season.

I think we are a good chance of winning a semi.

If Woods and Thompson start the season and play most of the games, i think we win at least another 3-4 games.

Apart from next Fridays game the other games are quite winnable .
Roosters will be hard to beat at Allianz I don't think we do to well there . We tend to get them at Accor . They are the team to best this year . I think Panthers have had a good draw this year and have been beaten recently few times .
Sharks have an easy draw to the semifinals could stuff them up in the end .

When Cirro talked about us handling the mental side of the game well, he was comparing to the Canberra game.

Both games were similar, we started well and were on top. That was far more obvious against Canberra, we were pretty close to totally dominant at the start.

The ref handed the opposition momentum and field position and we spent a lot of the first half defending at our end.

If anything, I think that the young Storm team played slightly better than Canberra in attack, and way better in defence.

The difference in the 2 games was, we handled it better. We executed our chances and didn't have many lapses in defence as a result we had more ball and clawed our way back to a 50/50 posession split at the end.

Cirro always intended to mention Sutton in the presser, the players and coach knew he was extremely likely to be a factor.

I think Cirro was laying the ground work for a behind the scenes complaint about the ref. Quietly through official channels after a win is the best way to do that.

I only give the offical complaint at 30% chance of succeeding, but no harm in trying.

If we get Sutton in a semi against a quality team, I don't like our chances, and I will not blame the team if we do lose.

Even after they beat us, I didn't particularly rate Canberra, their defence is very suspect, I hope that the Panthers put a score on them.

Roosters starting massive favourites and hopefully Toups back is good for us.

I will be happy with a fighting loss, as long as we are in the game at the 60th minute.

I still think we can win, but can, not will. We may need a bit of luck.

I give cudo's to the young Melbourne side, they played well and given the assistance from Sutton they would have beaten a lot of full strength NRL sides last night. Sutton is a low life dog and if he cant get over 2015 then he needs to give refereeing away because the grudge is eating him alive. Last night was the perfect example why the 6 again rule needs to be removed from the game and Sutton was blantantly displaying how it can be used to manipulate a result. I also thought is was a disgrace when the bunker wasted about 3 minutes repeated watching (in super slo-mo) an incident obviously looking for ANY reason to disallow one of our tries. No wonder people are accusing the NRL adminstration of corruption. Let he players choose the results of games, the ref is there only to ensure the players don't cheat.

ODF it would not be hard for the NRL to quietly decide that Sutton never refs Dogs games, that is what a professionsl organisation would do.

We can built a strong case for that, via the correct process.

Dogs fans would notice and would be delighted, fans of other clubs and the media, will not notice, and will not care.

The correct professional decision is totally painless, but needs to be kept under wraps.

Why it will not happen is, it will dent a few egos, and will force the NRL to confront some uncomfortable truths.

Even if opposition fans think we are delusional, the vast majority of engaged Dogs fans all share the same delusion.

A majority of club fans being pissed off when a ref is named is a bad outcome.

And games reffed by Sutton are always terrible to watch, lots of penalties, 6-agains, him explaining obscure rules and technicalities. Endless stoppages and video replays.

If he wasn't reffing Dogs games, I would mostly avoid watching games where he was the ref.

Under the circumstances, the young Storm guys and our players turned it into a watchable game.
