Let's see where this takes us lol

Not sure why Mahoney has been named thought we played bloody well without his compliment.

I happy with the output would prefer a lean on Burton to start in the halves but it's obvious we are drawing straws atm

Let's focus on Penrith 1 game at a time and deliver on being the best in the comp + potential is there!!!!

I am happy with the 23 man squad named.

In particular Marhoney, Turpin, Hughes and Wilson being in the 23 man squad. I wasn't expecting Todd.

This cements my thinking,
1) Drop Salmon, move Hayward to 13.
2) Start Marhoney or Turpin at 9.
3) Add Wilson to the bench.
4) Possibly replace Rinakama with Montoya, if Montoya is right.

I am not expecting Critter to play.

As funny as it may seem, Hayward starting at 13 and Wilson on the bench may end up being the keys to us winning.(in the unlikely event that Cirro runs with something like my ideas)

I am hoping that Wilson can come on in the last 20 minutes and add some speed and footwork. Possibly with Kiraz moving to centre, Burton to 6, and any other changes required to make it work.

If Cirro wants Marhoney and Sexton in the starting line-up for the rest of the season i am happy with thst.

I'm equally happy with Turpin instead of Marhoney, and Sexton moving back to the bench.

Salmon hasn't been bad, but he doesn't throw the passes Hayward can throw.

I am expecting Kenny to play for the Panthers.

I'll cop whatever team we get.. i like Burton in the halves as he's more than just a centre hitting holes he's a thinker and an impact player and has developed a connection with the players outside him

If we win this match Critter is probably back next match and Burto probably shifts back to 5/8.

I have a feeling that Cirro will not vary the side much.

I am happy to trust the fact that Cirro knows a lot more about footy that I do.

I still think that we are a chance. My main concern is our ability to put them under pressure by scoring points.

I also think that Galvin has the talent to answer his critics at any time. He might need to change a few things, but mostly that will be reverting to how he naturally plays.

Key factors for a dog's win in order of importance.

1. Weather - hopefully hot and sunny.
2. Crowd - hopefully at least 60,000 dogs fans.
3. Attack - more ball movement especially shifts on yardage.
4 Defence - concede penalties/ 6-agains early if losing the ruck. Try to win the collision and keep most defenders on their feet.
5. Kicking game- Burto to kick long and land the ball in the cage.

I am happy to concede yards on yardage if we can move the Panthers big boys around and wear them out, hot weather will definitely help. Burto can make up some yards with the kicks.

The playing style changes we need to make are stuff we have done before, especially in dry conditions. We are a skilful passing team good at moving the ball.

I'm not sure if the Panthers will throw the ball around, usually they play a more conservative style.

I reckon we will know in the first 10 minutes if we are a good chance of winning. And if it goes south, only the crowd can save us.

Yep earn the right then throw it round hit the line with power run your lines boys!! No let off penalties and make your tackles hit and stick ball and all!! At the end of the day I hope they are having fun when you play well you have fun and the wins come from that dimension!!

The young fullback star David Bryenton is a great player.

I don’t think that he is "Glen", because Glen was supposed to be playing for Greenacre Tigers.

Dykes is joining the club and i rate Cochrane.

So some good fullback options in future years.

Bryenton looked like the best player on the park in a national school boys final.

If you have got the 9 Now app you can watch the School Boys final, I can't find anything worth watching on Netflix.

I love how big Mase is a passionate supporter who also thinks that the Dogs can beat the Panthers.

His "smash them in the forwards" formula is completely opposite to my "throw the ball around" formula, we will have to do both now. :)

To be fair Tracey has not done alot wrong as our fullback a couple highball malfunctions and he was taken out as a link man when he's proved he can match it lining up and creating the extra man. I don't recall many fullbacks running or defending with as much firepower from.the back.. we should be opening teams up ATM and we need to find another gear if we are to threaten!!

I agree with Freddy Fitter, when Bryenton runs the ball. he looks like Benji Marshall. It will be very surprising if he never plays NRL.

But a year 12 school kid is probably a couple of years away.

Fox Sports manages to talk about Sexton/Galvin every day.

In 2026 will it be Galvin/Woods or Tracey/Dykes?

I am fully expecting them to say Gavin is a 7 and Woods is 6 :)

If Critter is right to start, I am 100% happy with Sexton off the bench.

We may not win, but Sexton not starting at 7 will not be why we lose.

Big Willie and I have already told you why we will win, throw the ball around, after bashing them into 2029. Sexton can come on for part 2. :)

Hayward/Galvin playing 13 makes sense if we want to throw the ball around late in the game.

I am not saying Galvin is more of a 7 than Sexton, I am saying, trust Cirro, don't listen to the skawking chooks.

The only organisation our team needs to do is get Burto in a good position to kick on last tackle. The rest of it is just running through the plays.

Go back 10weeks we are genuine contenders we fell off the page their for a bit but opportunity knocks the players need to know how special it is to play finals footy and I suggest they may lift with a home crowd of 70,000

C'mon The Dogs!!

I actually saw my old school play RL on TV once, perhaps twice, we got absolutely flogged.

I am glad that the sport i played wasn't on TV.

It always ended the same way, the school team would win 4-6 knock out games ..... then when we least expected it..... get absolutely flogged.

The RL team was unlucky enough to get flogged on live TV with the whole school watching in anticipation.

The coach was always a maths teacher with a great vocab of swear words for the half-time blast.

The standard of school boy RL is higher these days, but I seem to remember 40 minute halves.

We weren't allowed to play rugby league at school it was the time where they banned it for being to aggressive and deemed proper tackling technics weren't taught so it was blacklisted.. I used to play tackle with my cousin's backyard and juniors for chesterhill hornets my brother was 5 years older than I so looking back I never made a dent in him but would have faired quite well in mod footy lol

SAQ what i learned attempting to play league at high school was i should have learned to tackle in primary school.

Touch footy is one of my favourite sports and my tackle technique suited that sport.

The particular school game I am talking about the opposition was a lot bigger than us, I think that we made negative yards on some yardage sets. We should have waved the white flag and walked off after 5 minutes. We had some good players, but only a couple of big players.

I think that it is pretty likely that Crichton will play and we will have the same line up we had against the Storm.

While fans including myself have doubts about Salmon, ex-players including Mase and Sherwin seem to think that he is doing a great job.

Critter might not be right to play in that case Sexton starting is practically a certainty.

I doubt that Cirro has changed his mind much on the best 17. Some might call that stubborn, I call it backing his convictions.

He might have a different opinion after the match, if he does, that is too late, and it factors into the season review.

What is different for this game compared to the Storm game is the weather, the crowd, and the ref. Hopefully, at least 2/3 work in our favour.

Fewer injuries is essential and beyond that we need to play 5%-10% better.

I'm not sure that the Panthers are a stronger team than the Storm or that they are in better form.

All of the teams remaining in the comp are evenly matched. Broncos at their best are scary, but they are also far more mentally fragile than the other sides.

Warriors were the only really out of form side in the 8.

We need to improve and Critter improves the side.

This has been a very enjoyable season, most enjoyable since 2012, I don't want it to end.
