Big Ange thread

I support United. Despise Liverpool, yet I can still respect what Shankly achieved at Liverpool. Being a rival is one thing, being unable to acknowledge others is different. Ange could win 5 UCLs in a row and you would still find some way of hating him, simply because he coached Celtic.

If anything you've proven just how much tougher than EPL is than those other leagues. For a manager in their 2nd season to win a European trophy, whilst balancing a raft of injuries and backlash, is quite an achievement
you are right, i hate him as he is associated with the filth.

You only love him because he is Greek/ Australian.

I'm all for rivalry, but being unable to acknowledge another player or manager when they've done something achievable just makes you a bitter hateful person.

Why would I love him for being greek? I'm from Africa. I hate Arnie and he's Australian. I like Ange (not love) because of what he achieved with the roar, Australia, and I acknowledge his success. I once wrote a published article -when in journalism- vehemently against the roar appointing Ange.

Stop being bitter and angry for no reason.

Palmeiras manager is on fat Vang's radar. Maybe Palmeiras club is on Ange's radar.

There’s a chance that he thought the Forrest job might be his last crack at the Prem and he’d never get another offer so can understand why he jumped at it but it’s gone against him.

i was hoping he’d take a sabbatical after Spurs, reassess and then take the Japan NT job if it came up.
Yeah, completely agree. You can understand the temptation. You don't know how often those offers are going to come along so natural that he'd be reluctant to knock something like that back even if he knew it wasn't quite the right fit.

Regardless what you say, I still hate the fat bastard, no anger or bitterness either. I am happy to dislike him. I also hate the Catholic Church, for all sort of reasons.

Thanks Christ thats over with..... This was doomed to failure the minute that heroin dealer put his arm around Ange and whispered sweet multi million pound nothings in his ear..... EPL dream is dead now (as is his boyhood club AEK) , best chance is a continental "project" club .. what a shame.

“ Top quality managers “ don’t normally get sacked twice in less than five months. The EPL was a step too far, with his one system only game plan.

One system? He has played numerous systems since I started following him at Brisbane. You clearly haven't been looking closely. What's with all the hate towards Ange? Don't you want an Aussie to do well? Surely you can't dislike him this much just because he managed Celtic.

It could’ve worked. It’s not like he was taking over a basket case club. Looking at that team, they have some very good players all over the field. I’m actually a bit surprised he struggled so badly. A period of adjustment would be normal, but this was just spectacularly bad. They suddenly forgot how to defend, couldn’t score and couldn’t win. It was a disaster. If he’d just beaten Burnley and Swansea, he probably would have got a bit longer, but he couldn’t even manage that bare minimum. Their form under him was simply untenable.

What the hell, Ange? Last PL season at Tottenham was incredibly awful, but there were extenuating circumstances. They couldn’t stop getting injured and he was a victim of gross underinvestment into the squad. The squad was actually very thin. And he still won Europa and got them into CL. But then he went to Forest and continued on exactly the same trajectory with a significantly better squad and no injury crisis. This one’s completely on him, I’m afraid. Not sure how he could bungle it so badly and so quickly. Very disappointing.

Did you watch each game?

it is the 2nd most prestigious tournament after CL annually.
Sure some think its just another tin cup/and mocked for its not the big one but thats the lower % outlook.
Whoever is involved and how deep they go always would get heaps of support.
