Big Ange thread

LOL
I doubt he’d accept the job in a relegation battle though. It’ll be Roberto de Zerbi, if not him then Sean Dyche or Erik Ten Hag will get the job. If we can’t find a permanent replacement then it’ll be Ryan Mason again or Ben Davies will be a player-manager. Harry Redknapp won’t take the job due to his age (he’s 79) and Jamie Redknapp is a pundit not a manager.

Fans don’t want any of those options. It’s all either Xabi Alonso, Jürgen Klopp, Mauricio Pochettino, Xavi or Zinedine Zidane. The pay check (reported to be one of the highest in the Premier League, ironically given we aren’t willing to spend too much money on good players) is pull factor but the fact that we could get relegated and have nothing else to play for pushes them away so far that the pay check doesn’t matter.

Look, Ange obviously is out of the question, why would he bother we agree.
I really think no matter who Spurs end up with are up a creek without a paddle.
7 games left.
3 @ home 4away.
All I see is struggle street every single game - Hammers/Forest/Leeds put up a far better fight of survival atm and their results more so will dictate Spurs course.

Looks like Spurs are about to appoint De Zerbi, which reminds me a bit of when Newcastle appointed Benitez to save them before they got relegated.

Poor De Zerbi was flying with Brighton and you rate him but going to France was a very wrong move being a 1 club shit show league imo.
Think another wrong move with just 7 to go and it’s either slim chance hero or zero and then what of the resume and hanging in championship.
He’s either impatient for a job or just the money grab.

He gets a big payout just for avoiding relegation

At Marseille "De Zerbi-ball" was a high-risk, high-reward system centered on extreme provocation. He baited opponents into pressing by "pausing" on the ball, then used a box midfield and vertical passing to slice through them. It was an aggressive 3-2-5 attack designed to create 1v1 isolations for his star wingers....

For a while it worked but eventually the other teams began to work it out.

Overall, it was a mixed tenure, promising highs followed by volatility and a sour exit at a club with demanding fans who at times, can easily intimidate the club's board.

It does seem like it. Hopefully he’s left Mason Greenwood in France and doesn’t bring him. Someone suggested bringing him in but I will die on the hill of not letting him ever come anywhere near any club I support/like.

Age doesn't really matter though, especially after Bristol City gave Roy Hodgson their interim head coach job recently.
For a club like Tottenham it usually would, especially being a permanent manager. Even for a Championship club like Bristol that’s quite strange. It’s not as ridiculous as letting Ben Davies be a benchwarmer-manager though. I get that players have managed and played at the same time before (e.g. Jess Fishlock) but it’s not ideal, especially for a professional club in the world’s top football league.
