Yes it did, like the world over, no longer a convenient truth when everyone else recovered long ago! Did covid not affect the AFL, NBL etc etc in same way here, why the stark differences?

Not in the same way no. AFL and NRL have more money so more buffer. NBL not as sure but it always has issues and is a smaller scale. Mismanagement in the APL played a big role. KeepUp ffs. Again no fan of the APL here.

if it does, can it start by paying that debt owed to FA so the rest of us that actually fund the FA via our teams and juniors could get a bit of a break? Imagine for a second if that $4.1mill writen off (from the estimated to be written off $11mill) had gone to the NST for a h&a what a growth we wouldve actually seen for AU football....

The FA made the decision they had to. Losing the AL is not good for football in Australia and the FA knows it. I don't think the game recovers easily if it folds.

It's a shit kinda irony for a lot of clubs though and I get why you'd be pissed about it.

Why should it be a disaster, it wasnt when the NSL was killed off for 'some better good'... If anything it may well allow for a proper eco system to come to fruition finally, all under the FA, and above all NO APL... wouldnt that be interesting!

I was pretty young and new to football when that all played out and didn't really understand all of what went on. I don't like the way the old NSL teams were treated. I don't like the way they continue to be treated. I want to see pro-rel

The FA let the APL run the league and I feel like that's a mistake.
The voting power the APL have is an issue. Too easy to block change.

I don't think blowing the whole thing up and burning it to the ground is any kinda solution though. It'd be repeating past problems. It's probably a cathartic thought for some but won't solve anything. Some changes and reform is needed though.
