Bias of the a-league

Every new team added to the league has a season with a higher salary cap as I understand it. The justification is that they need to bring in players not already in the merry-go-round and are competing with established squads.

I have no problem with that - it is not NZ specific.

I don't know what happens with that higher cap from season 2 onwards - whether it holds for the length of contracts, diminishes over subsequent seasons or just drops out.

One thing about nz playing is it means i have a team to cheer against when a neutral which makes it more fun

Normally im cheering for young players and against foreign journey man. So it can get complicated if its a young striker vs a young goal keeper

I'm not involving South. They aren't in the league but that had nothing to do with Wellington. Losing Wellington and Auckland doesn't equal more Aussie clubs.

Wellington can afford to play in the A-League. Wellington can afford to be part owner of the league. The requirement of having to be able to afford to play AL isn't Wellington's fault.

Funnily enough it's more expensive for the league to travel to Perth than it is to Auckland and Wellington.

Purely from an airfare sense or entire costs? Not doubting you. I would image NZ has potentially more flights than Perth.
