He is 20 and is about to walk into first team minutes at Sporting Lisbon. As jas88 said this is a lot of hard work paying off right here for the young kid.

Nestory is the biggest box office player we have and this is a huge moment in Australia football!!

Nestory Irankunda definitely has the potential to go far and if he manages to get consistent game time at Sporting CP right off the bat it could well be a stepping stone for him to eventually move to the Big Five European leagues.
 
I put it as our 5th/6th biggest transfer ever after..

1. Okon to Lazio 96. Reigning belgian shoe winner bought by the 3rd best team in the dominant league of its time, Serie A. Started well winning Lazios best 1st yr player then manager change and huge injuries killed his career.

2. Kewell to L'pool 03. The one everyone remembers no explanation needed.

3. Bosnich to Man U 99. THE best and biggest team in the world at the time. Only reason i mark it down is because it was a free transfer and was a case of Ferguson knowing him, having started at Man U.

4. Viduka to Leeds 00. Leeds just finished 3rd in EPL, qualifying directly to CL group stage. One of the most young and exciting teams in EPL history on the up with a free spending chairman. Viduka was arguably the best player in Scotland at the time, and was a big fee

5. Bresc to Parma 02. Went for huge money, as Serie B's best player at the time.

6. Irankunda to Sporting 26. Huge fee, hype and media entourage especially for a 20 yr old. Coming off a good world cup. Sporting coming off a Champions League Qtr final.

Khoa Ngo has made the move to Cong An Ho Chi Minh City permanently after being loaned out from Perth Glory earlier in the year, making 14 appearances in the league and cup for them after previously playing 26 matches in the A-League Men since making his debut in April 2024.

I meant Maty was younger than Danny. TBH they are all stay at home keepers. Periac-Cullen the next sweeper-keeper but he is a way off yet.
