Australian transfers 26-27 Summer

Sure regardless, it's nice having players playing in Europe generally but the importance for a team like us is having players playing in top 5 leagues and hopefully eventually some for big clubs. Difference makers make the difference and Teague and Hollman were never touted as that.
It’s difficult to predict a players ability even at a young age though.

Exposing young players to senior football is what they need for their development so it increases there chances in fulfilling their potential.
Without exposure to playing it’s hard to know regardless of the type of player they are.

He said it during their ESPN daily podcast, that they are highly aware of Gianluca Okon Jr and his talent.
Here hoping. He is a bit different than a Volpato, in that he has played for Australia at youth level. Also guessing he is not your typical Aussie-Italian kid, and is probably is more connected culturally to Belgium than Italy, plus also has a Cuban mum, and bro playing for Oz and Dad as assistant coach for Roos. Hopefully all that work in our favour.

Have there been any rumours about Bos? I'm hearing things about big 5 league clubs circling pretty much all our young guns at the moment except the best one..

I'd say based off everything I've seen and heard with him, he's like 90% chance to play for Aus. It's not really a concern for me at all.

Can you imagine a Socceroo playing for Barcelona? An A-League product at that? If I am being honest, I never thought I would see the day but now at least I can dream.
I agree, I was more so joking about Barça’s financial situation, implying that they may genuinely put in a shitty offer.

Only one Aussie has ever played an El Clásico: Hayley Raso played for Real Madrid in 2023–24. Spain hasn’t been a hugely popular destination for Aussies but hopefully it’s a market that opens up more in the future.

But in saying that, do I need to cool my jets here? Is it likely another Irankunda type scenario where he gets loaned out for the experience?
Most likely, similar to what Joe Gauci’s been doing at Aston Villa. I’d rather him actually play for a worse team (on loan or not) than have him never play at a better one.

You'd hope they'd be aware of his talent, considering his Dad is the assistant coach of the national team.
I saw a comment that if we couldn't entice him over when his dad is a coach then our pull and organisation is hopeless.

I'm not so sure as the father and son are doing football things on their terms and the split in sometimes a natural occurance with all the ongoings in football.

In saying that, Asian Cup 26th man and get it done if he's a golden goose!

This is a good idea: as a percentage, how likely would different dual internationals be to fully commit to Australia?

Factors that matter:

Good enough for a higher ranked nation?
Spent most of their life in australia?
Born in Australia?
Played in our domestic comp?
Played youth internationals for us?
Connection to the roos?
Patriotic diaspora community?

Australia has 2 trump cards but everything else is a no for g okon. I dont think we should take it for granted

We desperately need someone to kick on in midfield. It's our biggest talent hole atm.
It's only our biggest talent hole because we have really good attackers and defenders coming through that we haven't had before which has made it feel like there is no one coming through in midfield. But there are plenty of good young midfielders coming through. Robertson for one should already be there, with a different coach he starts and once he is starting every game in the Championship next season, I predict he'll start at the Asian Cup.

Popovic is an idiot for not playing Robertson. The talent in midfield is not as strong as that in other areas, you're right. It's really apparent when you compare our midfield to USA and Turkiye that we're a bit behind.
