I beg to differ. The A League has too little football, less of an onus on development and harsh summer conditions for that stage of his career IF he isn't playing and leading every week. I agree the environment is familiar and the football is decent and better than a lot of the German third tier but this competition has some decent infrastructure and big clubs and exposure. Besides, he'll be owned by St Pauli so they'll decide what to do with him.I still think he's better off playing AL than third tier. At least if he's playing here, he's strengthening the local competition in a familiar environment rather than a backwater league that no one watches.
St. Pauli better start pumping money into their women’s team then for the mighty Younis siblings!Marcus. Talia can follow suit.
But if our players are better off playing elsewhere what's the point of the a league then? Might as well just have all the Aussies overseasI beg to differ. Worse is being loaned back to the A League probably Younis aside. It's more the older deadwood we should be clearing out but his departure opens a spot for the next batch coming through. If we'd gone the small, sustainable club route with Canberra, Tasmania, Wollongong and Sunshine Coast we' have even more minutes to go around and wouldn't be bothered by a few more imports.
Historically i think our players have developed quicker in the a league than buli 3But if our players are better off playing elsewhere what's the point of the a league then? Might as well just have all the Aussies overseas
Klein isn't the best example here as he's featured prominently for Brisbane. But if our players are better off playing elsewhere what's the point of the a league then? Might as well just have all the Aussies overseas
We've had very few in Liga 3. Iredale was there most recently. The rest were victims of German football farms. Italiano just survived and should have sought a loan to a third tier club while at Gladbach as the big club tag holds some weight.Historically i think our players have developed quicker in the a league than buli 3
Legue 1 is more ambiguous
That might be the question of many leagues where the best go away very early such as Ireland. The A League should be on par with places like Poland, Denmark and Belgium that supply some national team players and have a focus on playing local talent. But if our players are better off playing elsewhere what's the point of the a league then? I agree players have developed well in the A League and with time and positions scarce, we shouldn't be introducing Japanese discards.
They were all Regionalliga (4th tier) whereby Dortmund may have gone up the the 3rd while the AA cohort were there.I

Irankunda needs to play. None of those options look guaranteed.Main thing is Irankunda does not go to Italy. Way too much hoarding and temperamental decision making. Only if they saw him as undroppable.
From memory Josh also got NSL substitute minutes for the mighty Carlton sc.Josh Kennedy had an interesting path. Very briefly at Wolfsburg then Stuttgarter Kickers in the 4th tier. Transferred to Bundesliga side Köln but mostly played for their 4th tier reserves.
At 22, Klein's current age, he went to Dresden in the 2nd division. Klein's A League seasons are the substitute for the German 4th division and then some.
What we don't need is 34 games on the bench for a total of 300mins in a season. He needs to fire up and play 35 times. German Liga 3 can provide that.
Had his CV at a German quiz night once and Carlton was the giveaway. From memory Josh also got NSL substitute minutes for the mighty Carlton sc.
Imagine though if every team had a irakundra or a bos all the games would be must watch for a neutral. That might be the question of many leagues where the best go away very early such as Ireland. It's been discussed before that clubs are under no obligation to do so and that's the tricky part.
Amini and langerak were 3rd with dortmund 2They were all Regionalliga (4th tier) whereby Dortmund may have gone up the the 3rd while the AA cohort were there.
Singh is a good example playing for Regensburg who were definitely 2nd tier and may have had some 3rd division time.
