Australian transfers 26-27 Summer

Nishan Velupillay has been confirmed as making the move to FC Ingolstadt from Melbourne Victory after making 141 appearances and finding the back of the net 25 times for them across seven years of service time, and will be plying his trade in 3. Liga for season 2026-27.

Seems like Galatasaray have joined the hunt. About 30 million AUD seems like the price tag for every Aussie this off-season.

Copied and pasted from the Norwich City forum:

A Bola - a reputable Portuguese newspaper - reported that the recent Porto and Sporting links were not true.

Apparently, an intermediary approached Porto and offered to broker a deal for Toure.
Intermediaries are individuals, who aren’t connected to either club or player, who’ll negotiate deals in return for a cut. It’s probably safe to assume the Hull and Galatasaray links are also from the same intermediary trying to drum up some interest.

Someone is trying to capitalise on Toure’s recent form and make themselves a quick buck.

I have no idea if any of that is true. They still might be able to rustle up a deal even if it is true.

Just a reminder that Popovic played this guy against the US and sat Irankunda on the bench.

Velupillay to the German 3rd division will be an excellent case study. This issue is he's not exactly in his development stage anymore. This league has 20 teams unlike 18 in the first 2 divisions. Many clubs have decent facilities. This should be the target for our players from 18-22 years old.
Bundesliga 3 really?

For comparison on ClubELO, Inglostadt are 1468, whilst Brondby are 1581.

1581 would place Brondby as 2nd last in the Bundesliga, and around 10th in the Championship
given Ingolstadt finished 12th in the 3 Liga last season and have been playing in that league for a few years, I now seriously doubt the accuracy of ELO then

I reckon if I was an decent A League player, as Nishan is, I would be trying my luck before it gets too late. It would be very nice, I imagine, to play in a part of the world where noone even knows AFL and NRL exist. Which admittedly, is the rest of the world in the case of AFL and 95% of the world with NRL.
Thats a fair point.
