Australian transfers 25-26 Winter

I Reckon this team could match our 2010 team. Grella, moore and chipperfield all had their form collapse the year leading up to the cup, though of course we still had kewell and cahill capable of making an impact and holman on the rise

All 3 Levante keepers are very inexperienced. Some successful loans but if they're not being played at 23-24 then they're likely to be reserve keepers for most of their career.

Ryan should get the start.

The Levante incumbent was loaned out to the Spanish third tier last season by the looks of things so no doubt Ryan walks straight into the team...fitness assumed. As he should, international captain with 100 caps and all.

I think this is a brilliant result considering how long he's been unattached for!! Likely relegation battlers in one of the best leagues in the world, stopping shots from some of the worlds best heading into a World Cup! Ripper!

Let's just hope the goals don't starting leaking in and things turn pear shaped. No idea on the defence in front of him etc

priestman transferred too

to motherwell this time

I was surprised he didn't get more time at wsw

A list of some of the more obscure transfers from DDAVIES: Post in thread 'Australian transfers 25-26 Summer' https://greenandgoldfc.com/threads/australian-transfers-25-26-summer.306/post-59938

So realistically, we could only cap about three new players per calendar year without upsetting the game style too much (assuming the same manager). Otherwise, much larger changes could actually mean not going very deep into either the WC or Asian Cup.
I think we could do more than that. In our last squad of 26 players there were 11 with less than 10 caps and 3 on the magical number 10. The 11 included the 2 reserve Keepers and also included 3 with no caps. As has been discussed ad infinitum, giving a couple of players 10 or so minutes at the end of a friendly blends the newbies into the team, and even could have been done against the Saudi's.

In addition to the above, according to Wiki, there have been 35 other players who have been called up into squads during the last year, 19 of whom have less than 10 caps. Goes to show how much mid level talent we have, and unfortunately that we don't have (at the moment) anyone standing out of the pack.

I guess I need to temper my questioning of the depth of our coaches searching for talent given that 40 players have been selected for squads this past year with minimal playing time. The beef as some have postulated, is moving from selection to actually running on the pitch.

That's probably best for Genreau. Whatever that move was it certainly wasn't for football.

Probably got 1 sideways move left before he has to go to the a league or something
