Australian transfers 25-26 Winter

750k for the starting RB of a top 25 national team player? What a joke. Any other second tier football nation and that fee is automatically 5m plus.

It's such a conundrum of a deal for Miller. An international who's clearly rated by some going to a bigger league yet commanding a fee of only 750k which hints also at his flaws. It's a low risk bargain for Blackburn with the fee being an obvious reasoning for Blackburn fans if it doesn't work out.
It's a great move for Miller (and even more reason for me to get Bein Sports).

The Championship might force him to learn the positional discipline he's never had, but physically and temperamentally he's perfect for that league.

That's 18 players in the Championship. Arguably the 6th best league in the world. That's not a bad foundation. I wonder whether Miller will be a starter?

The question for me is whether he can keep his position as a first choice. I have no idea what formation Blackburn prefer, but if they utilise Miler as a rcb in a back 3, I think he can do well. If they play him at rb/rcb, I think his chances are greatly diminished.

rb/rwb, not rb/rcb

Arguably 6th best league in the world? Better than Portugal & Holland big call.

Also brazil and argentinas top divisions are nothing to sneeze at

Probably 11th best in the world after the big 5, top 2 in south america, eredivisie jupiler league and portugal

Doesn't Miller still have a good 6 weeks of injury recovery to go? I'm sure clubs can diagnose and pass a player despite 'failing' a medical. Are medical fails more about chronic injuries or internal health conditions?

Perhaps it's that a player doesn't pass a fitness test and the club can't determine the duration of absence thereby increasing the risk.

Despite the nature that football needs someone fit I'd be curious about any employment or discrimination law and if anything has ever been challenged. I know the player doesn't have a contract but maybe something in the area of fair treatment. That is all in spite of football players needing to be physically fit.

For me those leagues really drop off once you get past the top 6 or so teams. The football becomes unwatchable.

Football is definitely back. Schalke hosting Hertha and Schalke with so much unsteady ground at the club score first. More AA in Bundesliga 2 would be great.

He started out as a CB before being turned into a RB
I know. Someone mentioned this on the old forum. That was a mistake or perhaps they didn't have any good options available to them in that position at that time, for whatever reason. In any case, Miller showed last season at Hibs that he is a much better rcb than rb/rwb when he was moved there.

In terms of being a competitive league it would be way up there, but in terms of general quality... not all that far off 6th so "arguable" is the definitive word.

You wonder based on what, exactly? Player earnings? Revenue? Surely not on standard of play. Imagine a Championship team in the ECL. Seriously?
Only the very best make the CL from Portugal and Netherlands. Plenty of dross below them but the Champ is competitive most of the way down.

Any info on which German club wants Pierias?
