You're half right although the issue is Israel is a sovereign country (the only democratic country in the Middle East) and the other is a terrorist organisation designated as such by most of the Western world.

You've taken a side so I've no interest in trying to persuade you otherwise. I'll summarise my point of view on the current outbreak of violence over there so you understand it better.

Hamas made unprovoked attacks on Israeli civilians knowing full well that Israel would respond with even greater force against Palestinian civilians. They did this without regard to civilian deaths on either side. In fact I'm confident they hoped Israel would respond as they did to get international support. The leaders of Hamas are criminals who should have no role in any future Palestinian state.

Israel responded by trying to eliminate any Palestinian state, something they have been trying to do for generations. The current leaders of Israel are criminals and should have no role in the future governance of Israel.

On anti semitism it is not anti semetic to criticise Israel or people who do violence in their name. It is anti semetism to attack Jewish Australians simply because of their faith.

It's not anti Islamic to condemn the actions of Hamas or the people who do violence in their name. It is anti Islamic to attack Islamic Australians simply because of their faith.

Yes I agree that a lot of the left have swallowed the Hamas narrative. I disagree that it's the root cause of anti semitism in this country.

If I said to you, I don't support Hamas -like 99% of those who protest for palestine- would you believe me?
