Australian news and politics.

And this is our countries mosh pit - in desperate need of decent leaders and parties when you’re talking up this current mob.
The trouble this goose and co stars look ok to many lost souls is there is no opposition no matter the party.
Its will be the first time in my life considering donkey voting for that what they all are leading ones Albo and Wong.
Donkeys the lot of them.

You've forgotten his "attack dog" style in opposition haven't you?

The bloke is completely a weak leader and Bondi could've been avoided if he told Penny Wong to stop stoking the anti-Semitism fires and he not cowered in fear over losing votes in Western Sydney by doing nothing about the anti-Semitism in this country seen since October 7, also not forgetting having to be dragged kicking and screaming to announce a royal commission after Bondi.

If you really think Australia is better off for his and Labor's two terms in office you're living in Cuckoo-land.

Fair points..

Where you see a 'weak' leader who has retreated from the fight, I see a deliberate shift away from the combative, performative style of the past toward a more process-driven, cabinet-focused approach. I get why that feels like a letdown if you’re looking for a more hands-on, assertive presence, especially on those major social issues.

We’re likely looking at the same events through completely different lenses, where you see a loss of direction, I see a trade-off for stability. We might not agree on the final assessment, but I appreciate you being willing to have a proper crack at the topic.

I'm in the same boat.

I'm a lifelong Liberal but the party is a complete shambles at present and I simply can't vote for One Nation, I'm politically homeless at present.

The country is in massive trouble.

Likewise
And dammed is vote for a party that milks small business to the core and us slaves getting somewhere and taxing us more and more.
What young person has hope going out on their own.
A party that hides behind the unions don’t call them out tread lightly and will consider their recent future reforms instead of laughing it off.
Feck the lot of them and they are going to feck you who vote for them but still stand behind them.
Must be Gov employed - well heck that has increased three fold obviously - protected employees even though so many couldn’t work hard in a day but complain.

A Scouser who votes for a Conservative Party.....🤭

It’s the ultimate "against the grain" lifestyle choice in Liverpool. If you’re a card-carrying Tory in that city, you aren’t just voting—you’re basically committing to a life of high-stakes social engineering every time you bring up "fiscal policy" over a pint....😋

Employment Minister Amanda Rishworth has refused to say whether tradies should be prioritised over economists and animal trainers under Australia’s skilled migration scheme, despite the country’s housing crisis.

My backing of LFC had nothing considered re the politics my friend being here and young lad.
Politics wasn’t even in my thoughts, in hindsight maybe a good way to be instead of pedalling socialist outlooks.
Pure passion towards players the club style of play and even better CJ there - that’s all that mattered.

I was only joking fella. Liverpool has always been a massive Labour Party supporting city.

Likewise,

I became a Leeds United fan at the age of 13 in 1997, totally unaware that part of the UK is Labour heartland nor do I have any lineage in Yorkshire at all.

A then teenage Harry Kewell's performances for Australia on that dark night against Iran swayed me towards Leeds and I never looked back.

I know that very well as you mature.
Thatcher days and all I learnt as you mature.
Your a port city completely understand but as a foreigner and football supporter back in the good days you only look at the club and its performances - not politics or gender etcetc outlook some today would help them decide who to support.
One thing I have learnt having been a owner business my life which team to back more than never hahaha

Some parts of Leeds and into the rural areas of Yorkshire are quite wealthy and Conservative Party strongholds.

What they call the " Golden Triangle" – the area between Leeds, York and Harrogate, is home to some of the wealthiest people in Britain.

Leeds itself has long functioned as a diversified financial and commercial powerhouse and it’s a city that acts like a mini-London in some respects,

Mind...

Labour still holds all five of Liverpool's parliamentary seats. On paper, these remain some of the safest Labour constituencies in the entire UK. But, beneath those election results, polling and local sentiment suggest a significant "decoupling." While the party wins, voters are increasingly looking elsewhere. You can see this in the surge of Reform UK in some working-class suburbs and the Green Party are seemingly finding traction in younger, more graduate-heavy areas like Liverpool Riverside.
