You might notice that people are now talking about the Christian Brethren in relation to the LNP. Their first involvement was in 1968.

We often dined with both of them in Canberra, in our place or in theirs in their electorates.

I never slagged off the LNP. Just stated history. Tbh I think the Lnp is bereft of ideas and talent at the moment. My hope for them was a more pragmatic person like Keith Wolohan. Sadly he lost. Read a few of his articles or even the young liberals critique of the last election. They virtually said why would a young urban vote for the lnp. Simple maths means that's where they need to win seats. Where the vast majority of people live.

Whether the ALP or lnp are better at the moment is not the question. The question is whether the lnp wants to be a valid alternative. At the moment by ignoring 'middle Australia ' and playing at the fringes they have chosen not to be. Playing performance politics is not being being an alternative it is what you expect from the Greens and PHON not a prospective government.

Policy development is what is needed. Call the ALP out with real solutions- not with slogans that get repeated by every member. Without a real opposition you get the government you deserve. Both tradiitional governing parties at the moment are not performing well. Hold the ALP to account by showing the LNP policy development that fixes people's problems and they will come roaring back.
