Australian news and politics.

Also, the majority of these incidents that were apparently ‘anti semitism’ weren’t.

For example the ‘firembombing’ the other day - a homeless bum.

All the graffiti and ‘bomb plots’ in Sydney - organised crime pulling the wool over the liberal’s eyes. Dutton swallowed it.

But now all these have somehow became fact and fodder

At the end of all this, it’s not thegovt’s fault. ASIO clearly fucked up not tracking these pieces of shit.

Also security questions need to be asked.

it’s pretty obvious these guys were in Phillipines for contact.

Most likely the were waiting in their room the whole time to meet isis linked people.

Surely their family were suss on it at the very least.

But security questions are racist, remember? All of this has become permissive as any questioning is now racist.

Saw a good piece the other day that the push back of numerous groups under the guise of racism makes for a culture of tiptoeing. In turn some members of said groups threaten violence against basic civil servants who then don't follow procedure out of fear. This is the case in most western countries where gangs and clans in still fear in those responsible for putting them down. Berlin is a lost city. Brussels, forget it.

Unlike a welfare office with some poor lady fearing retribution for reporting dodgy practice, you'd have thought ASIO and the airport authorities would've been on to something here. An immense stuff up.

Makes it into an ASIO list, both in gun club, travel to that country. The time between ASIO and gun club membership needed to be heavily monitored as the second step escalates it even if they claimed it was sport.

What is an interesting question is, if these groups have been given tens of millions of dollars by the government, and their event was considered a potential target for an incident, why did they not pay for extra police?

Ffs you get more cops at a local fete than what was there.

Yes 100%

Given the number of attendees, there were too few police nor was there something like a control centre vehicle parked there that could've surveyed and radioed. I guess the risk was still way underestimated.

In future you'll expect exclusion zones like German Christmas markets.

Keeps happening but it's not really happening, right?

So Israel haven't even had the equivelant inquiry yet into their oct 7 but they're throwing their toys out the pram because they don't like labor. LMFAO

Would people be happy for the royal commission was into xenophobia full stop in australia? Surely that would suffice. They could then knock it all off in one go

The performative politics continues. This in a Christmas message is way out of order.

If you are doing it tough, please know that you are not alone. Your community matters, and you deserve leadership that listens and acts.
The last 3-4 pages have been a dire read... "performative politics" is the best take on the whole thing I have read.... I think 2026 is going to a be a "line in the sand" year in many ways... Hoping and praying for sanity.

Hate speech legislation being drafted by the federal government after the Bondi terror attack must focus solely on Islamic extremism and antisemitism, Opposition Leader Sussan Ley says,

Ha ha - why not include everyone? So only certain people in our community can be protected? WTF. Surely, it's applicable to everyone or nobody?

So it's ok to use hate speech against every single group of people except one? Lovely can of worms you have there

Thank goodness
really happy he changed his mind. In America you never see a politician change his mind, media is so partisan there is more incentive to just double down forever
He's already being attacked for it though. LNP and Frydenberg are saying it's not valid and that the person chosen is a bad choice.

Basically, whatever he did, he was going to be attacked. Tax payers are shelling out more money to probably be told things we already knew. Successive governments, ASIO, and other organisations failed in their duty. We have a rising tide of hatred against minority, ethnic, and religious groups.

Yeah i get what your saying, but i still think its worth noting and being greatful for the fact we live in a country (well i dont, but you know what i mean) where it is possible for a politician to change their mind. I lived in usa and it just doesnt seem to happen

So the current LNP stance is

Still can't say they support the Royal Commission; (that was widened from the narrow one proposed by Ley along with her choice of commissioners)
Are opposing enhanced Racial Hatred laws, that protect all Australians
Are refusing to support improved National Gun laws, agreed to by National Cabinet

Does anyone still think the shrills had any concern for the victims?

So we have that before Israel eve has the equivalent for October 7? Lmao

Also, there is only one group of people that experience discrimination in this country? Hilarious.

Oh well bring this waste of time and money on. They might learn some things they don’t want.
