He does come across as a tool but I cant judge the bloke to be honest mate... Not saying what he did (or didn't do) is excusable, my point is only that the military system makes these guys, especially in elite units like SAS, into machines to do the killing for them.. rewards them with medals and parades and then, at the hint of negativity throws them under a bus. There are many many many people up and down the chain of command complicit with the atrocities that happen in war, ANY WAR, and I just think its shit to target one solider.
Im not saying individuals shouldn't have personal accountability but you cant spend 23.5 hours a day screaming "KILL KILL KILL KILL" at a man and then for 1/2 an hour whisper in his ear, "but do it gently"
Love to hear how the Libs and Nats will spin this as anything but a huge mistake to preference One Nation before the Independent. Basically that have said feel free to vote for One Nation and now they will have a fight in every rural and regional seat they hold. One Nation claims victory in Farrer byelection, Liberal vote plummets -

Labor will love this. Lately their Friendlyjordies-esque shills on Reddit have been all about teaming up with the Greens to get the Coalition out of competition so they can compete with One Nation, ultimately making Australia like America where moderate conservatives have no true voice anymore and because Australia is less conservative ultimately eliminating any meaningful competition. Nevertheless the Coalition need to sort their shit out.One Nation claims victory in Farrer byelection, Liberal vote plummets -

Sadly, as has been proven time and time again, we're copying what Britain does but 30 years behind.Labor will love this. TBH the Libs broad church was a broad church until the mid eighties. Then they have became incrementally more conservative. Now as the older more conservative Australians are dying out and living in sea change areas the cities are dominated by a younger less conservative cohort. The Teals have taken traditional blue ribbon liberal seats here and Labor has not suffered in the same way (yet) but will be attacked in the outer metro by One Nation and the Greens in the inner metro.Labor will love this. It’s clearly a matter of moderate vs not moderate. Teals aren’t nearly as successful on the state level and both Labor and the Liberals have overlapping states seats with each other’s federal seats (e.g. seats like Epping, Oatley, Ryde and Winston Hills are Liberal seats while seats like Parramatta and Riverstone are key seats for their path back to power, all despite Banks, Bennelong, Greenway and Parramatta being Labor seats that should be key seats but the Liberals haven’t won the last two since the redistributions of the 2010s, Bennelong was lost in 2022 and Banks was lost in 2025), plus the state teals had almost no success. NSW Labor and the NSW Coalition present themselves as likeable parties with likeable leaders and MPs, whereas the federal Labor and Coalition leaders are quite unpopular. I happily voted for James Griffin in Manly (using OPV) at the state election but begrudgingly voted for Zali Steggall (I don’t think I will next time as she’s not really shown to be truly a “teal”). You see similar patterns with urban seats in other states and territories, especially affluent, inner-city and multicultural seats and booths.TBH the Libs broad church was a broad church until the mid eighties. Each party will have their limits and to me the Nationals will be the ones that have the chance to disappear quickest. The Libs as least have a way back if they choose not to be One Nation lite and go back to being the the party for the 'forgotten people' in the cities. One Nation has already taken that title in the regions. Similarly the Greens and Labor really have little sway in the regions.
