Two Australian born and raised footballers, who played numerous games for our underaged teams and stated they wanted to play for Australia, turn up to one camp with Poppa and nope out.

Sign Up Now!Will he get a starting or a bench spot for Croatia though? @Beretta Is he really in a position that he can break into the first team anyway or as I imagine there are players in front of him. I can't imagine Croatia being short on quality. He is unable to reverse the Change of Association if he plays even one second for Croatia in a match in an Official or Non-Official Competition
FFFFFFS!Two Australian born and raised footballers, who played numerous games for our underaged teams and stated they wanted to play for Australia, turn up to one camp with Poppa and nope out.
Now they’re free from the Aussie injury curse they’re probably gonna soar. I’ts a good thing Circati was locked up before Poopa got the job.FFFFFFS!
to lose one highly talented youngster is careless, to lose three is disastrous.
it points to a clear systemic deficiency in FA's oversight and/or popas man management skills.
perhaps those 3 will never become world beaters, but we dont have the depth to be able to lose players of that potential.
We do it here for free.Ideally you have a TD and head of scouting one local and one overseas to see all of the talent.
This is a job requires time, effort, and money of course.
Correct and he needs to be sacked. They were both good enough and they should have been playing. If available Triantis should be a starter and Segecic an impact sub imo. Popovic fucked them around and undervalued them.
I mean that isn't what happened according to Popa. He said Volpato reached out to Okon and said he would be interested in a discussion about playing for Australia. That was enough for Popa and Okon to go to Italy to have discussion about their plans and what would need to be done for him to play for Aus. They didn't try to convince as much as accepted the offer from Volpato and told him it's his choice. When Popa said he’s isn’t trying to sell the shirt but then goes to Italy to try and convince Volpato to play for us? Something tells me they are selling us a smokescreen instead.
Potentially good news for Milianovic or an Eli Adams. Popa has been hyping up Hrustic alongside McGree as our only natural 10s. I figure Popa will try Hrustic on the wing againI was assuming he makes the World Cup - who replaces him in the 26?
It's not.Confirm it's nonsense but you've got people saying on social media Segecic would've been locked up with two friendly matches. A lot of odd misinformation out there. Surely that can't be right?
Bring back Arnie lol, in all seriousness though I don’t think Arnie would have played around when capping these guys unlike Popa tbh.The timing of this decision just prior to World Cup is so interesting. It'd be less surprising if he made the decision immediately after Popa announced his WC squad if he wasn't chosen. To make the decision now suggests he was pretty aggrieved and perhaps thought he was no chance to be picked, having likely been made aware that he wouldn't feature in the upcoming friendlies. Given he's surely unlikely to be in Croatia's WC squad, I wonder why he has made the decision now 3 months out from WC. It's similar to Triantis where he actually wanted to be a Socceroo and Popovic's actions have led to him turning his back. If it were a different manager, I would say that it is very likely that one or both are already cap-tied Socceroos by now.
No way he would have. I think that was one of Arnold's strengths. I think Arnolds man management is far superior to Popovic's.Bring back Arnie lol, in all seriousness though I don’t think Arnie would have played around when capping these guys unlike Popa tbh.
Perhaps he was just bullshitting when he said he wanted to play for Australia. This is seriously disappointing, especially when he said he wanted to play for Australia for now this to happen means something has gone wrong behind scenes.
Supporting Australian football can be really hard…

Exactly. Too much misinformation and this weird belief that a friendly can set you straight which may only be possible if the person has switched nationalities. It's not.
