Robertson with his own issues but again the bad timing and management by Arnold didn't help. Called into friendlies against Ecuador and went alright. Great club form and then got injured for the Asian Cup if I recall. We needed better liaising but Robertson's head was also wandering.

TBH for the upcoming friendlies, should he get a call up given that he has not played much at all and that his current club is League 2? My response is no. Given his age and club history, will he develop to the potential he showed earlier on? Highly unlikely. Right now it appears that he is farting around about which country he would select rather than concentrating in developing his game so that he becomes attractive to a championship team or some other league.

I thought he was injured. But he's apparently okay to play for Peru. Which means he's not being picked by Cardiff in League One. That's concerning.

He has indeed been injured. His coach at Cardiff is reported to have said that he is back at training but they need to work on his fitness and other aspects to get him up to the necessary level and that they need to be patient with him.

Agree that Robertson shouldn’t be expecting to get selected for any national team based on his current form and fitness, or lack there of. The Peru thing also could be a classic case of don’t believe everything on the internet.

I also agree with the comment about whose job is it to do this player communication work?? I mean Popa has two assistants so you’d hope between the two of them in between camps that they could get their shot together. For me the most likely answer is they play the game of speak when spoken to with the players and Popa simply doesn’t value forming relationships in this way.

It could also be that this is a bit of a Hail Mary from the Peruvians. Maybe he is still uncommitted, and so what do they have to lose. The reports have said that he has been invited rather than choosing them.
Don't really understand why they're that interested, what's he actually achieved plus his ceiling is dropping.

Was a regular in the championship as a u22 last year

Our current cms hit a similar benchmark at an older age: balard last year as a u25, oniell as a u26 a couple of years before

Even if teague wins a starting spot in belgium he is still 2 years older than robbo when he did in a similar quality league

He probably wont be a player the gets 7-10 good seasons in the epl, but i can see him peaking at 2-4 good seasons given his techical ability, which is good for us right now

I get the feeling injuries are going to curtail much of his career. It always seems an issue holding him back.

He signed for Brisbane Roar prior to last season. Is still there. Didn't make any A League appearances, and I think he was struggling to get minutes with their NPL team too in the season just finished!

Lyndon Dykes came on in the 86th minute and scored for Birmingham City in a 1-0 win over Swansea in the English Championship.

Liam Chipperfield scored for FC Sion in a 2-0 win over Prishtina Bern in the Round of 32 of the Swiss Cup.

Marin Jakolis started and received a red card in the 66th minute for FC Noah in the Armenian Top Flight.
