Yes, cricket generally receives more exposure than Australian soccer, particularly in terms of media coverage and overall popularity, though soccer has high participation rates. Note the "more established sporting identity" mention - I tend to agree.
Put aside us devoted football supporters the mainstream only jump on board at WC's/Matildas/youth team only just but nothing like the 2 mentioned, EPL because of pre post and back Ange, we have no attacking players in the epl, Oz Cup a blip in the big picture.

This is Oz football as we know it 20+ yrs down the path of ethnic clensing - many have been pushed away many form the game - if it was scarred during NSL its doubly scared into the modern age for we wouldn't be talkign about this otherwise.

And yet the outright-majority of Aussies of non-Commonwealth migrant-heritages will NEVER care for it because frankly, just because one country of 1Bn people happens to beat its meat to it doesn’t make it global.

In fact some guy on TheRoar website who was in India recently, posted on there that while cricket is indeed the No.1 sport…he was taken aback by the impression it still wasn’t as omnipresently-pervasive there as 🇦🇺 sporting media/conventional hearsay makes it out to be. And just to clarify, he wasn’t in Goa(where ⚽️ holds greater sway among the locals due to having been a colony of 🇵🇹)

That works both ways though doesnt it? Especially as one of the quickest to typecast 'effnik' clubs as non aus in these threads...
Do i not recall you clearly telling me to stay off the AL threads, which i gladly did, and you would offer same courtesy? Yet here you are again, in our npl & championship threads even though you despise them, why? You dont plan to interact with it all as you have stated previously so why the heavy interest in everything championship? Perhaps its best you prwctoce what you preach also and head off to your fc Syd thread and its AL bubble and worry less about our side of the sport, no?

Keep it up and we may atart believeing your a closet 'effnik' and you wont want that!

No doubt we have a more numbers nowadays who wouldn't follow cricket as much but its still very much part of the sporting media and mainstream fabric's attention- thats all I'm saying no matter what isn't as obvious where those 1B are.

As opposed to your good self, i have an interest in both competitions. I will be watching on Friday night.

You are the only one that has stated categorically that you despise a part of football in this country, on this forum.

Just because i don't share your point of view, doesn't mean i hate you or your clubs.

I call bs mate.. unless you can claim we suddenly converted you.. only reason you will give a sneaky look in is to check crowds etc so you can comment/belittle as has been the case this whole time, you can atleast be honest about it!

You can fault me on some things but i dont wreak of hypocricy nor do i veil my dispose! But to be even fairer I never gave 2 fcks for any point of view on that side of the isle! Nor do i have any need to bring ppl to mine, thats a luxury for your mob trying to convert all those masses that you failed at! Ive always been comfortable and proud in my skin! Hahaha

Id gladly cop the red for playing the man, but ill cry foul about the refing though.. @BA81 played the ball not the man imo, its at best a yellow or if ur the AL ref of last year its a waive for play on just like the final! 😛
