16 days to go and counting...... Has SBS done any advertising? I havent noticed anything.

I have seen some either sponsored post or similar.

Good post but one one thing for me:


‘Real fans real culture’ will likely aliente people.


you cannot tell me that a Liverpool shirt NPLclib bloke who had no connection at all to Liverpool is not more of a plastic than a 20 year old football fan who grew up with only the a-league. (Not saying they are but by definition?)

For me, we need to forget about this stuff. Who gives a fark? Also some of the clubs are not even really community based anyway.

The irony isn’t lost on anyone when you have a Melbourne storm, nba, nfl following NPL fan banging on about franchises

But I like victory so what the fuck would I know so maybe I’m a Maccas fan. But I also watch the Bulgarian second division


The clubs have cool history.

I’d love to see awesome Hellas merch or strips based off decades ago. Knights have done this and it looked sick. Imagine all the cool retro shit clubs could do focusing on themselves, not a split.

Yes I agree ... especially with the sentiment that it NOT just about the old NSL clubs anymore... I would love to see Sprit and Metrostars and Moreton bay get out there and push this as a state pride thing or whatever appeals to their community/fanbase or whatever...

Clubs don't need to be ethnic to have pride in their past, South Hobart is probably the oldest club in the comp for example.

More an ode to past and building on the differentiation from the current was the thinking (and perhaps my shortcoming given the history that transpired i guess coming out) but i do agree it has that tendency!

Agreed but that is across the board, and imo the resistence is still more on the other side to advocate more to get to that point across and not this end i would argue.

Nothing wrong with supporting whoever we each see fit, was never about that, this split is killing us, we deal with exclusion or atleast work towards it and all goes towards the best for the game!

Mate respect if your watching 2nd div bulgarian from me! Thats dedication!

FA with the Clubs bombard the local Clubs through SM/some ads if anything on local radio stations and have posters or printed flags put up around every ground and indoor facility plus similar at lowys westfields/malls Re the Championship.
You'd think SBS would be having ads being the Broadcaster and through their other channels.

Yeah I use a IPTV set up. You can find them online if you search. Expect to pay about 100 or so a year

Also ‘rojadirecta’ is a website with lots of free streams

I think they just mean rhetorically.

In saying that, there’s no point in going out of one’s way to convince people that they won’t be turned away@ the gate/be given the hairy-👁 if they aren’t of the foundational-ethnicity of the club in question. Such people obviously have their minds made up on the matter(incorrectly) and that’s the long&short of it.

Yeah I get that these guys mean well but they do more harm than good sometimes lumping ALL clubs into the one basket.. Barker-Daish especially, having spent a season at Lakeside, could be hard pressed to come up with ONE chant that he didnt understand from the terraces?

Wasting too much time on appeasement of those that wouldnt come anyway, when we should be solely focusing all our energy on doing the best version of US alone, as teams and as a comp imo!
