Nepotism goes as far as the U23 with Popovic, Okon and Vidmar but how on earth has Blair made it this far? Marc Warren levels.
 
Have to recalculate but if we lose, H2H starts to get pretty disjointed. I think Thailand will beat Iraq but then we gave Iraq and will have difficulty again.

What make you think Thailand will beat Iraq?

This is Thailand C team. 95% of these guys didnt get minutes in Thai premier league.

Haven't watched him much before but he didn't get much game time in Perth behind established strikers.

No one would release their strikers. Wonder if they enquired about calling up Archie Goodwin.

To think some people want goals like that to stand by eradicating VAR. To be fair no one could really adjust themselves there and you'd like the game to respect all natural motion but his body is much bigger by the extension of the arms.
 
Oh dear indeed Simon Hill. An ad hoc squad under Vidmar. Shouldn't have expected anything else.
 
Why would you even celebrate that in the VAR era? Was always going to get ruled out.

We had our chances but it was a tough watch overall

No they are nt even close to a good team.

Their team A were sent to SEA Games last month and that team is still bad. Losing to Vietnam at home.

This team is C/ D+ team. Most of these players only train with the club but never get to actually play any minute in the league.

Why no chance against china?

This is china 2nd win in U23 asian cup final round in the past 15 years.

They are always terrible in U23. At least Australia made olympics twice in AFC. China hardly get 1 win in the last 15 years at this level.
 
Just watched the replay

What can Isay.... pretty dire

why does dukuly take set pieces? 2 matches in a row they have been awful

Everything is in slow motion under vidmar. 4 of the last 5 matches at u23 asian cup level we have failed to score

Players finishing is also really poor under vidmar which I suspect means the mental prep is poor

I really hope we get another coach....anyway still more matches to come
 
Its interesting looking at the stats. Aggregate of 600 completed passes

If you are playing a possession based game against a deep block, that is just too slow a ball movement to threaten.
 
Morgan needs the U23 job or even both. Have some other decent coaches for the U17 and U20.
