I would say our best 11 is stronger than 2 years ago if we had every a league player, but with players unavailable we are possibly slightly weaker. So will be interesting to see how we go

It’ll be 4-4-2.

Luka and Macalister up front with Hammond on the right and Yaya on the left.
 
horrid luck that deflection, but it was a poor clearance leading up to it

it also put Australia in an ugly spot - Vidmar ball really struggles to chase down a lead

ironically, it might make things a fraction harder for the way vidmar plays. Lets see how he does attacking for 90 minutes against a determined defence

we just seem a bit low in intensity, lots of actions a touch slow and lacking conviction.

I wonder how the mental prep is

Vidmar saying that 10 first choice a league players aren't here is accurate, and if he didn't say anything he would have copped a lot of unfair criticism

but to be honest he probably shouldn't have said anything until the tournament ends and just took the criticism while talking up the players. It isn't good mental prep for players to hear the coach wishes other players were here instead

Similar happened last year when all the talk was about irankundas selection dramas
