Really bad going from a backup at Villa who was fighting for a spot as the Socceroos' backup to a guy who can't even get in goals for Port Vale.
Managers getting desperate because port are bottom of the ladder. Every player will fight for their spot until they turn results around and u just gotta hope results turn around when u are between the sticks

Relegation craziness is screwing over gauci but benefitting matthews right now so u win some u lose some

Gauci has a fotmob rating of 7 despite them conceding a lot which is interesting. Conceded slightly more goals than his xgot mind u

Villa just played him. No different to Langerak at Dortmund. Punt on a talent where the risk of loss is much higher with the player. I still maintain Langerak would've done just as well as Bürki. One keeper has one good league season then the hype train of buying them happens. Baffling how Urbig got to Köln then Bayern.

While one could be loaned anywhere. Both of these Aussie keepers got stuck in the domestic system lower down with Langerak hardly playing at all. Langerak needed call Dortmunds bluff and Gauci is clearly never going to play with Villa and has to do the same.

Had they gone to a tier two league a gotten a foothold, they'd have been sharper, enhancing their national team prospects.
