Port Vale have 5 to 6 matches over the next 20 days. Not sure if Gauci should be included in next window. League Cup against Birmingham and EFL trophy against Leeds U21. I think the Leyton Orient game will be postponed on 6.9 as something like 3 international call ups can allow a team to opt out into he EFL. Happens more often now due to a lot of the Caribbean nations.

At 93rd in extra time Son got no way to go if not his stupid foul in the box we would have buried SK already.

During extra time Aus players got exhausted and got red card that s when Korea start getting shots.

Watched it on the way to a party. It took years to recover!

I have watched it since. The standard of football has improved immeasurably since.

It wasn’t until Aus played France as a warm up for the WCQs against Uruguay in 2001, that I had seen a team, France, play a modern football style. Aus somehow eked out a draw.

At the time I was despondent after Iran, but long term it probably hasn’t done any harm to Aus football.

Thanks for putting up the stats, Mkxx.

Given we had so many shots, we barely touched the ball. We played completely on the counter.

It was our lack of control of the game. They turned our possession phase over very quickly. We struggled to disturb their build ups. Our ball circulation was too slow.

Nevertheless, from so little ball, we had a lot of scoring chances according to your stats. I can remember them, but not their lack of chances.

I was 12 and had never watched a football match. It was so strange I watched it, the old man didn't, I just put it on myself for no obvious reason. Never more devastated, and I followed a lot of shit sport teams that lost a lot as a kid.

Steven Hall played a full game and kept a clean sheet in a 4-0 win for Brighton & Hove Albion's Academy over Blackburn Rovers Academy in Premier League 2. Younes Ibrahim was not in the squad for Brighton.

Garang Kuol was not in the squad for the Newcastle United Academy in Premier League 2.

James Overy was not in the squad for Manchester United's Academy in Premier League 2.

Marcus Neill was not in the squad for Sunderland's Academy in Premier League 2.

Awer Mabil started, recieved a yellow card and was subbed in the 84th minute for Castellon in a 0-1 loss to Real Valladolid in La Liga 2.

Gianluca Okon was not in the squad for Club Brugge NXT in the Belgian Second Divison.

Saad Moukachar came on in the 97th minute for Spartak Varna in a 0-0 draw with PFC Lokomotiv Sofia in the Bulgarian Top Flight. Ilya Shalamanov-Trenkov was an unused sub for Spartak.

Jordan Murray came on at half time for Brunei DPMM in a 0-5 loss to Terengganu in the Malaysian top flight.

Younes Ibrahim plays for Brighton's U18. He started today (8/23/2025) for that team and also last week.
