Aussies abroad 🌍🦘

Can either of them actually defend though?

Strain still the best pick for me - against the better teams at least.

"Will be missing for the next eight to ten weeks" Australia international Ryan Strain has picked up a hamstring injury and could be out for as long as two months. Leading up to their Conference League qualifier against Rapid Wien, Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin confirmed that Ryan Strain will be out for a lengthy time period. The hamstring injury will rule Strain out of the upcoming September international men's window that sees the Socceroos play against New Zealand in the Soccer Ashes.

Poor old Strain - never gets a break (unless its his leg).

With the English Championship starting this week and stacked with Aussies Abroad.... which game are we looking forward to the most? Portsmouth v Oxford is an obvious one, but keen to see how Nestory fares against Charlton on Sat night... hopefully he's close to starting.

How are people watching CHP? Bein sports? I was thinking of buying each team tv sub and vpn it. But dam its expensive.

Ariath Piol with his first full game for Real Salt Lake, in Attack midfield according to fotmob, in a 1-0 win over Mexican side Queretato.

Luke Ivanovic with a goal, assist and 76 minutes for Monterrey Bay in a 2-3 loss to Tulsa in the USL.
Giordano Colli played 63 minutes for Tulsa and no Jacob Muir for Moterrey Bay.

Jackson Lee an unused sub after 11 straight games starting for Rhode Island. His replacement got man of the match.

Arthur Papas' Cerezo Osaka lost 1-2 to FC Tokyo in the J-League Cup Round of 16.

Mitch Duke came on in the 84th minute for Machida Zelvia in a 1-0 win over Kyoto Sanga in the J-League Cup Round of 16.

Tom Heward-Belle with a full game for J-2 Montedio Yamagata in a 1-2 loss to J-1 Urawa Red Diamonds in the J-League Cup Round of 16.

Talking of young talent, I will be keeping a close eye on James Overy in the Manchester United Youth team. A Right fullback, I would be keen to see him brought into one of the main team friendly camps this year. He seems to be highly rated by the club after recently signing a professional deal.

I truly hope Bos's delicious match winning assist this morning was only the beginning of what has to be one of the most exciting times in recent memory for Australian football. To have this many players moving into better overseas leagues - many out of our home grown league would have to be unprecedented on sheer weight of numbers eg Championship.

I think I worked out the average age of all the Aussies in the Championship to be 23. I agree for all the outside noise - what is happening with the ball on the pitch seems to be in a good place, for now.
