Not sure what else Bennie can do HAS to be picked for Socceroos. Great Finish.. he's quite good with the outside of his foot scored a belter for the u20s too recently.

Como, Italy: Marco Tilio's outstanding preseason form was rewarded with a start for Celtic in their Como Cup match against highly fancied Al Ahli. Everything good Celtic did was orchestrated by the wee man from down under. Brendan Rodgers was particularly impressed and was quoted "He's everything we need in a winger. You know its not easy for him to come to the other side of the world but I must say I was particularly impressed with his technical ability, his physicality and mentality. We'll certainly be looking to go into that market (A-league) again in the future as it seems to have a wealth of untapped talent." according to sources familiar with the matter. The plaudits didn't end there with thousands of Celtic fans voicing their praise for Tilio's performance on social media.

Bennie must be included in September. With Miller injured, it's the perfect chance. October window will see the U20 WC clash to it's something ideal that our best U20 can get a Socceroos run in September then go to the WC.

I reckon though we'll see Bennie play for the U20 in a September camp too.

Gauci with around 30min against Frankfurt. The other keeper was 34 years old from The Netherlands but I don't either are being considered for the gig and a new keeper will be bought.

Gauci with the play out error and concedes. I think he's done at Villa. Should never have gone there in the first place.

If accurate, it appears Matteo Mazzone is now at Braunschweig in their reserves in the 5th tier. This can give access to the Bundesliga 2 side with very good form.

He may not have a professional contract though and is considered part of their reserve set up. Not entirely sure how that works but U23 players often get celebrated when signing a pro contract meaning they can be selected in the first team.

I am in two minds on this. If he is starting regularly for QPR I would be concerned that going to the U20 World Cup could bring opportunities for other players to take his spot. But of course i want to see our strongest team at the tournament. A real shame on the timing of the tournament being just as the European season has started.

The under 20 world cup has very weird timing. I get the under 17 world cup being during the season but by u-20 most of the boys going to the tournament will be in contention for senior football and most leagues start after the northern summer.

In fact I'm fairly sure past tournaments have been during the off-season. This seems to be mostly a result of the club world cup.

It's a tricky situation because but Bennie is probably held in good esteem by QPR that he'll be valued when he returns. We've had it a lot over the years that managers use the international break or absence to shaft our players for their favourites. Our best have always walked back into the wide of course.

Annoyingly the A League won't have started so we'll have a less well oiled machine and need to pick wisely. The best should go IMO. This is a great opportunity not had for a long time.

Bennie seems to have evolved further forward.

For me, Strain is still by far our best option as a RB but Bennie's form is becoming undeniable as a RWB. He's definitely a chance but up against the likes of Boyle, Irankunda and Arzani.

If he maintains his current form and becomes a fixture for QPR then he's probably rusted on for the WC.

It's hard to imagine that this U20 World Cup won't be missing a decent amount of all the best players as the clubs aren't obliged to release them.

I guess there is the risk of upsetting the player if he has his heart set on going. Will be interesting.

Anyone notice Bennie has filled out even more? Massive upper body.

September window is for non A league (apparently) and potential U20 players to get some exposure and I guess North America in October will be the best excluding any U20 players.

Our last group game is October 4 while we play in Canada on then11th. There's no way we'll have U20 players fly up even if we exit in the group stage.

Bennie and Irankunda are two who are wedged by this. Their clubs want them. They might go to an U20 WC before a senior international window which they also have a claim to. Knowing our luck the clubs won't release them and they won't be picked by Popovic either.

Bennie + Irankunda on the right 🔥

Popovic won't understand it but it's got to be Bennie and Strain on the right and Bos and Bos/ Elder on the left. Miller and Behich aren't at their level.

I want to see these combinations and how they'll run lines and afford each other space. I like the suffocating of an opponent. Dortmund under Klopp used to be so well positioned they'd be doing it with a back 4 where you'd see many forward options and a top fit midfield for cover.
