This is revisionist. I distinctly remember he went to Hibs in his first season (23/24 I think) and was played mainly as a CB and was absolutely pillars by the fans and did not play much.
I think you may be the revisionist here He played about three at CB when he first went there and was pilloried by Scottish fans. Surprise surprise. So was Ange at Celtic. He then quickly transitioned (less than a month) to the centre of midfield where their problems really were and stayed there and excelled.
Deepest weve ever been with wingers or at least since golden gen of Emerton, Kewell, Chippers, lazaridis, bresc (played winger back then), Sterjovski and holman. So much so that Teinert who played in the bundesliga and a lot Bundi 2 games, and Danny Invincible who starred in Scottish prem albeit at a lower team, never even got capped.
