Irvine may not be a lock either, since he is carrying that foot injury.

I know they are no longer fashionable but I like a big bodied screening number 6, Trewin and Robertson for me.
A big bodied screener would be ideal. I think we have a few other options too. Devlin (not big bodied though), Okon, Stensness (would have Trewin ahead) could do a job. It's hard to go past the job Devlin's done at Hearts. I'd love a Robertson and Devlin pairing.

We're absolutely stuffed under Popovic in midfield. Irvine not 100% and technically inept. O'Neill one minute never played with paid but then Popovic said he's had an ankle issue for 2 years.

Remember Juric in 2018? Masked his injuries in order to play and was very underdone.

Midfield should be Devlin, Balard, Robertson, Yazbek.
Whoever is in the midfield it's going to be our weakest link. Hope I'm wrong but I won't be expecting penetrating through balls from our central mids. We'll be relying on the flanks and well-aimed long passes to the wings from Burgess and Circati. And set pieces of course.

I am struggling to remember a socceroos team where midfield was the weak link!

Historically the back 4, even during the golden generation was the weak link

I think our uber focus on playing out from the back meant we got the jump on other countries in producing press defenders

Feyenoord can clinch the UCL if they win their next game. Waiting with bated breath for Feyenoord to do so, and hopefully Bos doesn't have to play the final game and can instead rest for a week before camp. Especially regarding Bos, who is arguably our most important player and scarily injury prone at Feyenoord.

Similarly, Parma's season contains three more games. Hopefully after this week's game, Circati can rest.
