Both look ok, Trewin looks more timid, can tell heā€™s getting adjusted.

I know itā€™s the first game of the season but sheesh this is a hard watch

I think we're thinner at CB than it appears. There's an assumption Souttar comes back and is in good form. Degenek and Geria are playing at low club levels. Matthews is injury prone with patchy club form.

Circati, Burgess are quality with a drop to Rowles who I think is next in line. I can definitely see a role for a player like Herrington if his club form is good. Quality back-up to what we have.

a lot indeed depends on the fitness of circati, burgess and souttar

Degenek doesn't lose much compared to the others defensively but is a big drop on the ball. Rowles is probably a touch underrated and is decent too

I like Rowles defensively but he's poor on the ball. I trust Rowles defensively as much as any defender we have. His ball progression is bad though.

I like that Herrington and Matthews are good with their feet.

I like Geria's coverage and recovery. He's also got the mindset to find a forward pass. It's horrible he's stuck in J2 with speculative minutes.

Degenek old head and good mentality but I think is past it now.

Iredale is doing really well but stuck behind Burgess and Rowles imo.

The ref in the first half at least was terrible. Beyond terrible even. Lost control of the game in the first 15 minutes.

There was 17 minutes added time because VAR took so long to review the two big decisions. It was to the point it would have been a season defining controversy in the A league it was that bad.

Red card that got overturned was never a red, goal that was taken away for a foul should have stood and was a terrible call especially with VAR review. Both took like 10 minutes to review.

All in all it was the worst refereeing display I've ever seen and that's not even hyperbole.
