Apologies if this has been mentioned. Jake Hollman has had surgery on his hamstring. His nightmare first season in Europe is over!!
The most ridiculous story of the season. He was scouted with purpose and they have that many games but the manager gets all uptight that he's not a good fit. Walsall play some decent football and the EFL keep trying to remove hoofball so you'd think Hollman would stand out.

Considering his journeyman career I wonder how many languages he can actually speak. Wouldn't be surprised if he can also speak French and Dutch.
Ooh this is fun! Let's work this out:
  • Maty speaks English as his first language, which is obvious as he is of White British descent. We don't know if he studied any languages at school.
  • Maty has played 141 games in Flanders (the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium) and the Netherlands over six years. Chances are he can speak a bit of Dutch, but he's probably not fluent as over 95% of Dutch people are also fluent in English (with the majority also having knowledge of another foreign language, usually German or sometimes French). However, Dutch is quite easy to learn for Anglophones relative to other languages due to it being a Germanic language.
  • Maty has also spent six years in Spain, a country with a much lower English proficiency than Holland. Therefore, chances are he can speak Spanish (and might also know some Catalan from his time at València and now Levante, and possibly also some Basque due to his time at Real Sociedad).
  • He only spent a year each in France and Italy. Therefore, it's unlikely he speaks anything but basic French and Italian. He also only spent two years in Denmark, which has a near-universal English proficiency, so it is almost certain that he cannot speak Danish outside a few words and phrases.
Therefore, it is most likely that he cannot speak Danish, French or Italian, but probably can speak at least some Dutch. He might also know some Catalan, and he clearly knows Spanish based on the clip. And of course, he speaks English as it's his mother tongue.

❌ GAME OFF.

#Pompey's clash with Ipswich has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

This is after persistent overnight rain, continuing into the morning and forecast to last until close to kick-off, has fallen on already saturated ground.
This is the second time that Portsmouth's Championship game against Ipswich Town has been postponed after the original date at the start of January was rescheduled to February 3rd local time due to a frozen pitch.

Portsmouth's schedule is absolutely rammed over the next few weeks. Games every 3 days and now they'll want to squeeze this in.
I won't be surprised if Segecic ends up getting injured again this season unfortunately as the fixture congestion for Portsmouth isn't really helping with short turnarounds and the need to make up the game against Ipswich Town yet again.

On the plus side maybe Farrell gets a look in. I know there were rumours he was AL bound with a loan but no confirmation there so assume he's still available for Pompey.
