Sign Up Now!Unfortunately with Popovic it probably has to be RWB. I see the front 2 being more central with a single striker. He's really firing this month. What position would you see him playing?
Ours cost peanuts compared to some French football farm product if we're going to compare ROI. Plenty of French jewels but a lot of also rans too.A Lot of aussies abroad have to go through fan abuse and come out the other side of it. We are more injure prone and its a big adjustment. Silvera is in his 3rd year and hitting his straps
I think playing in La Liga will be good for Awer Mabil to test himself against the best European players and get to a higher calibre next season, but conversely Mathew Ryan may want out of Levante next season should they get relegated.Outside chance of mabil playing la liganext year
Doesnāt feel like thereās much chance of Poppa replacing a defensive-minded Miller with an attack-minded Silvera in that role. Could see Poppa sub him off the bench late, when chasing games. Also a shout for right wing, but Iād prefer to see us with front 2 strikers and 3 in midfield.Unfortunately with Popovic it probably has to be RWB. We have many areas we should exploit like our centre backs, midfield and wingers but is also like to see Sapsford and Toure start together tricky to fit them all in. If we copied Frankfurt's formation with inverted wing backs covered by 2 CM tanks and 3 mobile centre backs we'd be good.
Irvine and Devlin the stamina but you'd need Balard for the skill. Silvera and Bos tucked in but they're wide roamers too. Metcalfe and McGree with Toure. I'd actually have Segecic in Metcalfe's place in a drifting role.
Middlesbrough retake the lead after Delano Burgzorg scores in the 90th minute, with Sam Silvera getting the assist to make it 3-2.Boro give up a 2:0 lead!
Miller has done good things but it's still a joke he's first on the team sheet and our main attacking outlet. Insanity. He's not good enough for our back 3 given out stock and the attacking wing backs are what we need. Italiano, Karacic and Strain are technically better while Metcalfe and Baccus would be fine reserves for emergencies.Doesnāt feel like thereās much chance of Poppa replacing a defensive-minded Miller with an attack-minded Silvera in that role. I don't know this but I suspect Boro's new manager has had a fair bit to do with his improvement, starting with positional adjustments. The timing looks a bit too coincidental.Silvera scores. A must Socceroos inclusion based on this and it isn't even a headache. So good to see people staking a claim to keep the rest honest.
I actually like Miller a lot now and I think he will continue to improve immensely with a few years in the Championship compared to Scotland. I donāt think heās reached his peak yet. The only problem is that he club position is CB rather than RB. As a WB I think itās horses for courses between the two and whether the coach wants a defensive or attacking option.Miller has done good things but it's still a joke he's first on the team sheet and our main attacking outlet. I agree we need the extra mid. Irvine and O'Neill are just sideways passers. Can't fit them all but Balard and Devlin would be interesting together. The formation puts players in the wrong areas and doesn't exploit our strengths I feel.
Miller has improved. I think the reason he looks good for Australia is because when goes right into his familiar role when replacing Silvera or others who've struggled and it embellishes his abilities.I actually like Miller a lot now and I think he will continue to improve immensely with a few years in the Championship compared to Scotland. Metcalfe has all the tools to succeed as a WB and I think heās better with a sideline next to him than in midfield, but heās never played there for his club.
Just wish we had this formation 10 years ago when we had prime Leckie and Carney. Both absolutely made for attacking WB roles!
No no.no I won't have praise for the manager. I was in middlesbrough for three weeks in December and Sammy doesn't even make the bench when I come back his scored two goals and two assists in three games. Maybe if he played him December we'd be singing his praises more!I don't know this but I suspect Boro's new manager has had a fair bit to do with his improvement, starting with positional adjustments.
