Aussies abroad 🌍🦘

Ah damn. Long QPR ball down wing and Bennie is the faster but a covering defender can get to it. The QPR AA working together on same wing.

The vast majority of Aussies abroad in the FA Cup knocked out in the third round after Derby County lost 3-1 to Leeds United and Portsmouth lost 4-1 to Arsenal. QPR lost 2-1 to West Ham after extra time, whilst Blackburn Rovers and Swansea City lost 4-3 and 6-5 on penalties after their games finished scoreless and 2-2 respectively after extra time.

hope they stay in business

also want to say I'm pleased leonard is in the midfield. He always struck me as very good, but not elite in that position.

Anything we can do to support them? I suppose just reading the articles

Good in defence but not elite in defence?
well I'm certainly not an expert but I note that elite defenders can

1) turn a difficult clearance (e.g. a through ball or a crossed fired in at pace) into a pass (like herrington, circati, souttar)
2) Can get a desperate tackle or block in when the opponent has a big chance
3) capable of a really accurate long pass that breaks a press

Leonard is good at keeping the ball in tight spaces and defensive duals, which seems more like a 6 with elite potential

Really hoping he gets game time
apparently turning into a 6 like triantis. I actually think he could end up better than triantis if he fulfils his potential
He's already better than Triantis because Triantis is dead to me.

The draw for the FA Cup fourth round has been completed, with all fixtures taking place the weekend of February 14th. Harry Souttar and Leicester City play Southampton away, whilst Raphael Borges Rodrigues and Tyrese Francois go on the road to Arsenal with Wigan Athletic. Joe Gauci and Port Vale host Bristol City at home in the only other fourth round fixture featuring clubs with Aussies abroad.

I bet Arsenal will draw one of those teams again and get the easiest run to the final but still bottle it in the semis.

At least Arsenal can still say they made it to Wembley this FA Cup cycle even if they fail to make the grand final, but hopefully we do get to see at least one Aussie abroad in the latter stages and not have all of them dumped out in the fourth round proper.

No grand final in the FA Cup. Or other standard knockout cup comps for that matter, even in Australia.
