As for Scotland it's snowing again this week so a few more cancellations would be expected. I wonder why Scotland hasn't done what the Baltics and Nordics (minus Denmark) do and have a single season calendar to avoid the winter, or have a winter break while still operating on the same calendar like Denmark?

All these cancellations are pretty weird to me after living in massachussetts

It really isnt that cold here
I guess a frozen pitch is a frozen pitch though and it's simply a player safety issue.

I'd also imagine some of these smaller SPFL teams grounds don't have the greatest under soil heating compared to bigger clubs with more $$$

Yeah, Gauci is there but been relegated to the bench. Needs reinstatement or a move. Do you think Farrell won't get game time at Portsmouth when fit?
I think Portsmouth may fancy a loan for the next half year just to see him ease back into football. Portsmouth probably won't want to take any risks on him in a highly intense relegation battle. Not to say Port Vale are down yet but they're in deep trouble.

Their last win was against 10 men.

Robertson is playing third division. I

Well, the Gulf Stream is slowing and it it shuts down, Scotland goes under ice for winter. That will settle it.

I don't know Pompey's squad all that well but they don't have much depth at LB if I'm not mistaken. To this point it has always seemed that a fit Farrell would be the main one putting pressure on Ogilvie who is currently out injured until the end of this month.

25-30 minutes in the Bundesliga is very good considering the leagues where the rest of our players play. We only have ryan, circati, metcalfe and Irvine getting game time in 1 of the big 5. Volpato aswell but he can't really be counted until he actually chooses us

I'd be curious about sport science as to what the exact threshold is for a player in how much game time they need to be considered fully sharp and fit. It needn't be like flogging a horse. Maybe even fewer minutes allow for freshness when it's really needed.

@AdamField if you are still accessable to the pod

my guess is 1200-3000 minutes in a season is great for prepping you for international performance. Too little and you lack match fitness, too much and you burn out (like some of our players in the championship can)

No goalkeeper has prevented more goals in a single match in Europe's top 5 leagues this season than Maty Ryan did against Sevilla over the weekend (2.89).
