I keep forgetting about Garang Kuol I remember how he came so close to locking it up against Argentina - Slight concern Irvine is not getting any gametime ATM.
Yes amazing, he was pretty amazing Kuol, I remember reading all the juniors hung around to always watch him play at Mariners, he had game, but has NOT kicked on.

left too early. Players should leave once they can play a full 90 minutes (I'll even take 70). I don't recall Kuol being a regular starter, always a sub.

My gut feel is that if Kuol was in the A-league last season or this he may have gone to a lower tier club first rather than Newcastle right away which I think ultimately was the problem.

Definitely still likely left too early as you say pretty sure he was yet to start for CCM, but imagine if he went to Belgium/Holland/Austria instead?? If only...

Sure...

But how does an 18yo say no to 20k a week at NUFC?

I feel Kuol's solid first 6 months in The Netherlands gets overlooked. He did really well at an anti football ad hoc organisation. It shows if our players get the minutes and opportunities they'll go alright. While it must be earned, the constant training only to then get a 7min bench cameo out of position doesn't help. Seeking places where you're desired is best.

Alou Kuol's time at Stuttgart II was really good but he needed that Liga 3 loan when he was hot. A very nice league now with mostly full stadiums and a lot of football available.

The Hearts loan seemed on the basis of having a direct bloody rail connection to his parent club. It'd be refreshing for our talents to say not to big clubs. Look how Brook, Donnell, Peupion Francois and Hammond turned out. Honestly, they were never in these clubs' plans. I get the funding and facilities looks very enticing but you're not playing in your crucial years. I suppose for us mortals being well paid just to train sounds nice but maybe as a 34 year old reserve keeper and not an 18 year old with energy to burn.

AMB went to the 6th tier and grew a lot and is there abouts in the EFL. Elder was at Leicester but loaned and played then went to Hull. Steven Hall must get a loan away to face men.
