Asian Champions League 1 and 2 thread

Temelkovski to partner Toure up front for the Socceroos? He’s scored a lot of goals, it’s difficult to find online how many…….

He was. But he is probably top of the Aussies Abroad scoring charts, and is regularly scoring in the ACL.
You're flying in a different orbit if you think someone playing in Hong Kong is a chance of national team consideration.

Has an Aus ACL team played against his team?

I know the name, but can’t remember his playing idiosyncrasies?

Wow poppa scored as well
Had a good look at the replay.

Beijing was on top in the first 45 mins, but Mac came back in the second half. The game was a bit error rife, but I’d like to see Sterj play more of his young players - like Jets, defunct Western and City do in the AL.

A few players were left in Aus, but IMO if one never plays senior Socceroo football, playing away in the ACL could well be the highlight of one’s senior playing career. Mac played in a big stadium, in front of a big crowd.

The Beijing game was pretty physical. Sawyer absolutely barged their CB enforcer head over heels in one encounter! I think he was the guy who was sent off?

Deli flattened another - fairly IMO.

The Mac FBs were skinned for pace a few times by speedy Beijing wide players.

The Mac defensive shape held, and at times they built up superbly. Then lost the ball due to inadequate off the ball movement by teammates failing to open adequate passing lanes in the attacking half.

Cassio's son, Romero?, was inconsistent. He did a few good things, and made heaps of mistakes.

Phil Moss is a superb match analyst. Of course he was an AL coach.

FFS, he is an NPL level player.
Mate, a forum is a place to express different opinions.

I enjoy Kitwally's contributions as I enjoy most of yours. Instead of just repudiating his opinion, provide specific strengths and weaknesses of T's skill set as to why he isn't currently Socceroo calibre. We should respect differing opinions and agree to disagree.

T would not be the first player to succeed overseas, whilst being overlooked in Aus. Scottish striker, Lyndon Dykes, and Bailey Wright come to mind.

Coaches can be very subjective - and can differ markedly from each other.

When I was in the FFA state system, all 4 of my senior coaches in the FFA Tech Dept - SAP, state TD, NTC, state coach, gave me an analysis of one game where the Southern Tas U 14s played. All were completely different - as to who played well, who didn't, and what the team needed to do to improve!

Trent Buhagiar scored overnight which now takes him to 4 goals and puts him third in the golden boot as his side topped the group.

Meanwhile Temelkovski scored the only goal in Tai Po’s win over Mauk’s CAHN.
Good to read this!

I wondered where Trent B had gone?

Really like being in the Asian Confed.

I just watched the Beijing v MacArthur game and I have to say, the full green Beijing kit, with gold/yellow trim wouldn’t look out of place as a Socceroos alternate strip.

It reminds me of some of our kits circa 2000 and is a lot better than our current one which for some reason is black.

Welcome to the forum, PLC.

At times, I thought the green strip was hard to see.

Didn't the flue run rampant through Mac two weeks ago? I presume that some players are still recovering.

Analyst or a managers assistant is his sweet spot. Manager is a step too far for him. Can be the nice guy to the players (assistant) - but doesn't command respect as manager

Surprised with how he has gone. (haven't seen his games this season) Speedy bustling player. Not great touch and he was quickly worked out in the HAL. I wonder if it is a lack of awareness of his speed by the opposition or just showing up an area for Australian teams to exploit in Asian with some, speed versus slower defenders.
