Asian Champions League 1 and 2 thread

Did I hear it correctly that the average age of the Thai team is 32?
Buriram United's average age of the starting XI is 31.3 so it's close enough but bearing in mind that all but two of their starters are aged 30 and up, with their keeper the oldest at 36.

I remember brisbane roar in the asian champions league

matt mackay, murdocca and broich were standouts in the a league for their creativity but were all weak finishers and all the chances seem to fall to them

Asian champions league games are very cagey, so you need people reliable at both ends to avoid silly mistakes at the back and take your chances at the front. Beach has been brilliant in asia but unfortunately has had a bit of a form slump. Poor footwork in the lead up to the burrirum goal. Hopefully he can learn from that

City generated two big chances but one fell to arzani

they also had a 5 extra super dangerous moments that didn't result in a big chance, but poor decision making from kuen, mehmeti and poor crossing from arzani and atkinson meant it didn't lead to more

Having mehmeti, kuen, arzani and atkinson on at the same time meant there was a big chance to be profligerate in the final third. Younis is a unicorn of course

Does this draw mean we now will have 2 spots in the ACL? And 1 in the ACL2?
a win next week, whether in normal time, extra time or pens sees us get another spot but it will come down to the last game

stats really close at home indicating we need to lift a lot to upset them away from home

A very average game. I can't see any reason as to why Arzani, Behich, Atkinson or Teague should be selected for the NT. Beach I am undecided on but that would depend on Gauci actually hitting his straps. I have no idea what has happend to MC but their pass completion rate is awful - it almost appears that they don't talk to one another on the pitch.

The bloody ticket booth wouldn't accept my city discount for the game sooo bloody bush league. I had to pay online and get the $7 ticket fee
Good you attended live, MCG.

Watched first half on delayed start and last 15 mins live.

Need to see 45 mins to 80 mins on replay.

Were you happy with 1-1?

Just loving these tense games where so much counts on the result. I notice a lot more in these ACL games, because a result is paramount.

At the beginning it said with ACL rules being relaxed, 10 of the Burinam starting 11 were not Thai nationals. Astonishing!

Hardly of any value to Thai football.

I have always thought that Arzani's failure to score more goals has been his biggest problem.

Two of the AFC Champions League Elite East Region round of 16 second leg games are now winner takes all after Melbourne City drew 1-1 with Buriram United and Gangwon played out a scoreless draw with Machida Zelvia in the other match. The remaining matches get underway today with FC Seoul hosting Vissel Kobe, and Sanfrecce Hiroshima facing Johor Darul Ta'zim on the road.
