Asian Champions League 1 and 2 thread

Both of the last set of AFC Champions League Elite East region league phase matches finished scoreless, with Melbourne City drawing against Gangwon and Shanghai Port drawing against Ulsan HD. The result sees Melbourne City finish fifth on the ladder, level on 14 points and +2 for and against with Buriram United but with one less goal scored.

Tampines Rovers defeated 10-man Cong An Hanoi 3-1 in their AFC Champions League Two round of 16 second leg game, and end up winning 6-1 on aggregate following their 3-0 win by forfeit in the first leg. They'll face the winner of Macarthur's round of 16 tie against Bangkok United in the quarterfinals.

Only saw 30 mins of Melb City ACL game.

Returned from live Shield cricket finishing at 10.10 pm in a day/nighter.

Delbridge was off the pitch at this point, when I had heard he was supposed to be a starter. Arzani was on - who impressed. I think it won't be long where we see some good attacking interplay, between him and Kuen.

Was worried the Korean club had a bit too much control in the centre of the pitch. City use Teague as the base of the midfield triangle in Ball Possession as the build up advances further up the pitch, using the attacking version of the midfield triangle in a 4-3-3. Then he is sometimes joined with a twin screener, like Schreiber, in Ball Possession Opposition. Teague is improving and getting back to what he was with Vic.

ATM there is a nice blend between experience and very young youth in the City line up.

now 3 goals behind....Macarthur just suck in asia

Macarthur so bad....not sure I can get through the whole match

Macarthur concede again but the flag is up

even if its knocked off, I don't understand the lack of pressure on the shot in a 2v5 transition

And Macarthur 4 goals down

they haven't even been competitive

early sub sawyer on for vickery

2 target man strikers

Going to be a crossathon

Macarthur trailing Bangkok United 2-1 at the half in their AFC Champions League Two round of 16 second leg game but still in with a chance of winning on aggregate if they can score four in the second half.

If there is any mitigating factor for Macarthur, they have had 2 refs which have been everything frustrating about asian style refereeing that rewards play acting, professional fouls, time wasting and general p**phousery

Macarthur player gets space in the box after a beautiful cross followed by a nice first touch....I guess I better trip over and die for no reason

been the story of these 2 games

looks like it will be overturned as var has been called
