Asian Champions League 1 and 2 thread

I wouldn't even bother with entry playoffs, just have direct spots.
Feel like this is the opposite of ideal, personally would rather the four additional spots be for playoffs/qualifiers. I find it a farce that not every association at least has a chance of qualifying for ACLE - a la UEFA. We could still have an extra Australian club in said playoffs or something.

(Obviously the AFC probably wouldn't do that based on how they further limited top tier continental football with ACLE, although 40 teams was ridiculous)

AFC Champions League Elite back underway for matchday 7 today, with 10-man Johor Darul Ta'zim currently locked at 1-1 in the first half of their game against Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and Vissel Kobe scoreless against FC Seoul. Melbourne City remain fifth on the ladder with their game to be played tomorrow but could well drop to seventh depending on how results pan out.

At 9:00pm AEDT. Who the fuck is scheduling this shit?

Edit: my bad it's in Korea. But the Gangwon game at 9:00pm in Melbourne is fucking stupid.

If Johor lose both games is it possible for city to make the next round without getting any points from their last 2 games?

Yeah if Buriram, Johor or Ulsan (who City play) stay on eight points then yeah City will go through.
lets do the remaining games

Teamcurrent pointsremaining games
Seoul9Vissel Kobe, Sanfrecce
Johor8Sanfrecce Vissel
Buriram8Chengdu, Shanghai Sh
Ulsan8City, Shanghai P
Gangwon7Shanghai P, city
Chengdu6Buriram Machida
Shanghai Sh4Machida Buriram
Shanghai Port2Gwangon, Ulsan

Need 4 teams to finish on 9 points or lower if city lose both games.

So I think best results are a Shanghai Shenua loss and a draw for Buriram-Chengdu?

Vissel Kobe defeated FC Seoul 2-0 and Sanfrecce Hiroshima defeated 10-man Johor Darul Ta'zim 2-1 in their AFC Champions League Elite matchday 7 games. Machida Zelvia leading Shanghai Shenhua 1-0 at the half, whilst Buriram United and Chengdu Rongcheng are scoreless at the half, meaning that Melbourne City are currently fourth on 10 points and would remain there with a win over eighth-placed Ulsan HD tomorrow.

After those results it is simple,
if city get a draw in either game they make it
if they get 0 points the still make it if either johor or seoul lose their final game

Technically we are underdogs being away from home and our history against k league sides

But we arent playing like underdogs
