Topsy Turvey games so far this week with Canberra beating Melbourne City midweek, Newcastle going down to Melbourne Victory, Phoenix walloping Sydney FC 7 nil and Canberra playing out a draw against the Mariners in a game that took FOUR HOURS due to electrical storms.
Who says the women’s game is boring!

It’s early days but Melbourne Victory are starting to dominate but it’s good to see Perth putting a couple of wins together whilst Adelaide don’t seem to be clicking. Wanderers had the bye but they too have started off poorly again.
Melbourne City have games in hand due to their participation in the Women’s ACL but should move up the table with wins in those games.
I guess we shouldn’t read too much into the league standings at this stage but maybe we will see some trends moving in the next few weeks.

Perth Glory have back-to-back wins at home in games played at Sam Kerr Football Centre but they've only won one of their games on the road this season, which was on opening day against Western Sydney Wanderers. I think Canberra United are dark horses this season and the Melbourne derby on Tuesday should be an enthralling one with Kennedy White currently leading the Golden Boot race and Holly McNamara struggling to find the back of the net, but it's still early days and anything can happen going into the latter half of the season.

I will certainly take your advice but before I go I would suggest that you will be happier if you forget politics, take it from me 60 years of trying to bend things my way has produced zero!

Some very solid games to get matchday 9 of A-League Women underway, with Melbourne Victory scoring three goals late in second half stoppage time to draw 3-3 with Central Coast Mariners and Sienna Dale scoring in the 93rd minute for Canberra United, who defeated Newcastle Jets 1-0 to return to the top of the table, one point clear of Victory.

Absolute cracker of a game!
 
Melbourne City ran out 3-1 winners over Perth Glory in the first game of a doubleheader at AAMI Park to close out A-League Women matchday 9, with Holly McNamara scoring a hat-trick to move to seven goals for season 2025-26 and take the outright lead in the race for the Golden Boot, and Bronte Trew scoring the only goal for Glory in the 50th minute.

Yep she's def going to Europe next season. Absolute baller (as I'm sure you know from your profile pic). Wonder where exactly she'd go though.

I think London City Lionesses will be one of the teams in contention for Holly McNamara given that she fits in with their transfer policy of shopping for future European champions, and if she were to move there she would also be teammates with Alanna Kennedy, which should theoretically sway any transfer decision in their favour.
