ALM/W TV deal

ALM started of with a flop in the ratings!. Didnt even meet the ratings threshold.

SEVEN’S HORSE RACING 2025 Seven 972,000
PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIPS – FIJI BATI V COOK ISLANDS AITU Nine 636,000
SEVEN’S HORSE RACING 2025 – THE EVEREST Seven 482,000
THE DOG HOUSE AUSTRALIA RPT 10 49,000

ISUZU A LEAGUE TEN DRAMA below 40k didnt make the ratings
You could be a little less happy about it…………

Might hurt the new deal
I think that the Paramount Plus subscribers numbers which I don't think they actually release will play a part in how much the next tv deal will be worth.

They will look st how many cancel the subscription when the A League ends and how many re-subscribe when the season starts.

If the Paramount numbers are good during the A League season then I think that they'll get a good deal.

I'm not happy more so shocked as we usually get our best ratings for the first few matches of the season. Last season it was close to 200k for the first game but now nothing?. I thought we would have a big boost considering the Aus Cup final got over 500k on FTA?.

The APL's Paramount deal under threat?

What is happening with Paramount's coverage of the A league?
Tonight and last Weekend, couldn't watch games on Paramount on my TV.
Movies and TV shows stream fine but not A League.

Screen just says: "an error has occurred, but we're working on fixing it."

I had that and had to reinstall the app.

This has been bubbling along like a volcano for some time. They will keep the A League if the $ add up.

Personally, I hope they cut us loose. It isn't working and some shock treatment is needed.

The ONLY place for the A League is on Nine/Stan. I don't care what the short term pain is - the long term will justify it. The present situation is not sustainable.

Ever since they got the EPL rights along with the other competitions like the UCL I completely agree the AL has to be on there.

My figures were 131000 for NEW V SYD , 25-54 year olds and 63000 , 16-39 year olds. I checked with David, the guy who operates the site and they use the first column.

The numbers in the first column are what they sell to advertisers .

I assume you mean David Knox from TVTonight.

The first column (reach) is widely ridiculed in the industry - and the focus on it in VOZ is mostly driven by Seven. Whether advertisers use these figures over the traditional average measurements is highly debatable.

Knox wrote an article on for/against using reach here - https://tvtonight.com.au/2024/02/reach-versus-audience-the-case-for-against.html

Yes, the very man himself told me this when i enquired on the FFA cup final ratings.

So, when they use column one for NRL, AFL games, plus the all-important news, they are talking shite, or just plain lying to everyone?

They are aiming for the biggest numbers to impress the man on the street -whether those numbers have any substance is the question. There isnt so much a consensus - Seven and AFL fans very much prefer you to believe in Reach as a bigger number, the standard for reporting is still averages.

That said, NZ figures generally only come from Reach, we get indian cricket data as reach, and streaming data comes as minutes watched.

So as i always suspected and known, the whole thing is a fuckin farce.
