ALM/W TV deal

They are truly very well run codes
Easy to believe that, but I don't think AFL is run well at all. Even their own fans hate how the suits are running it. The AFL just has a lot of power and backing from government and media. Disgruntled fans are easily replaced with the next generation.

I like NBL, I'm not too knowledgeable about it these days, but they seem to be run well for what they are.

Mate change your name to Captain Obvious....of course the A-L Women's does not pay for itself who doesn't know that...

Surprise surprise we don't have a huge media deal... well blow me down here i was thinking we had a massive media deal...

No idea what your trying to prove ....
For the record AFLW also runs at a huge loss. I don't know about NRLW - actually, I know nothing about NRL and I would like to keep it that way.

KeepUp anyone?
I've always thought that we should add another $5 pm to everyone's rego fees then give them "free" access to stream all matches. Works out about the same as the previous rights but more eyeballs will be on it.

The difference is that the AFL can afford it.
yes as can NRL afford propping up their W.
The Australian Rugby League Commission treats the NRLW as a strategic, high-value asset funded by the game's broader record revenues (over $845 million) and major broadcast rights, prioritizing participation growth and commercial footprint over immediate standalone profitability.
Look as an aside......
Isn't it ironic with all the gender equality ranting over the years - the Matilda fapping the last 10/15yrs the W Pro leagues that has been instigated and pushed are not getting anywhere revenue wise.
More so where are all these crowds they would have expected by now ? - where are all those turning up to Tilly games not transitioning to local games ie APLW let alone the eggball W games.
At the same time its pulling $ out of the M's side to prop up the W leagues - worse for the APL they have peanut$ compared to the other 2 codes.
What a cycle - dammed if you do (cost you $ not make $) - dammed if you don't (your not "inclusive" your male chauvinist corporation yaddayadda).
Seriously what a spiral.

I wonder if one day we'll actually have a kind of 'Soccerflix' app whereby all the major internatipnal and domestic leagues and competitions are under one roof....

Maybe pay say $70 or $80 per month for it or something.....but you get everything!

If the major leagues were involved, there is no chance in fuck, it will be called “Soccerflix” FFS.

The arguments over professional and semi professional or A-league and let's say tier two teams mostly former NSL clubs.

These arguments are so hurtful to Football in Australia.

I went to the Mariners V Sydney United game, what I witnessed at the match was Football people proud of their club and talking about an upcoming game against Manly and other matches this year. They were both Knowledge of Football and respectful of the Mariners.

As a code we need to grow and that means both teams and crowd's at all levels...

Is it?! Why do you say that?
The CEO said the ALM is running on a strict budget of $3m where the TV revenue covers it. No spending out side the cap. Robbie Slater has said they (The clubs) should be getting more since WU arent in it and there share should go to the remaining clubs.
As for the clubs getting nothing, i find that very hard to believe - They basically got nothing the last 2 season getting only just above $500k a season.

the cap is what they are allowed to soend, not the APL TV money distribution
fk knows what APL do with the TV money
I don't know how we still have a competition under these conditions
