ALM TV Ratings

One of the things we need to revisit going forward is to get local teams on FTA in local areas.

Keep the marquee Saturday night for FTA, but Adelaide United games should be on 10Drama in Adelaide, Brisbane Roar games should be on 10Drama in Brisbane, Newcastle Jets games should be on 10Drama in Newcastle, and so on.

As an outsider I dont think thats a good idea... If the matches were at capacity then sure, but at the moment the Aleague needs as many bums on seats as it can get at the stadium, giving them an option to stay home and watch on the TV kills attendance, ask anyone at an NPL club.

I'd say this is becoming more and more of a potential issue and not just in football but many sports. People just love consuming content on screens right now. With cost-of-living stuff at the moment, it becomes an even easier choice if all your home games are on FTA.

Interested to the teams with the best ratings. I know I went out my way to watch Adelaide for irakunda I'm sure there are others who go out their way to watch mata etc play

I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of A League coverage in Australian newspapers.

There's a new kid on the block and he's called the internet.

News has been migrating to new, often fragmented and informal channels and the traditional delivery of day old news in the printed press has had it's day.

Last week The Washington Post, one of the most significant newspapers in journalistic history laid off 30% of it's journalists.

Disclaimer)) I still read newspapers and news magazines but I'm essentially an old fart and I don't matter anymore....

If the A League still wants to be in the newspapers then it has to look at buying space in the sports pages like basketball has done in the past.
